Set in '70s Kingston and '80s Hackney, Yardie centres on the life of a young Jamaican man named D (Aml Ameen), who has never fully recovered from the murder, committed during his childhood, of his older brother Jerry Dread (Everaldo Creary). D grows up under the wing of a Kingston Don and music producer named King Fox (Sheldon Shepherd). Fox dispatches him to London, where he reconnects with his childhood sweetheart, Yvonne (Shantol Jackson), and his daughter who he's not seen since she was a baby. He also hooks up with a soundclash crew, called High Noon. But before he can be convinced to abandon his life of crime and follow "the righteous path", he encounters the man who shot his brother 10 years earlier, and embarks on a bloody, explosive quest for retribution - a quest which brings him into conflict with vicious London gangster Rico (Stephen Graham).

The music of Luis Bunuel is so wonderful, it is something to write about. The image of a very young woman driving down a road in a car is absolutely terrifying and the people in the cars and the street seem to be not human. The music really got me and the imagery of the streets and the people are excellent. Although the movie has been criticized because of its graphic nature, it is not the point of the film. I saw this movie years ago and I was almost lost, but I think I liked the movie much better the second time. The story is really cool and I think this is a movie that should be seen.

Why do so many people say this film is a waste of time and money? I suppose it could be said that this film lacks a certain element in the realism department.but is this really a bad thing? What is missing in realism is much more important to this film than what is not there. People say it is dull, but they are missing the point. If you wanted to see a dull film, this is it. That said, the film is a surprisingly moving and important story. I found myself actually caring for the characters, and it was this very effect that makes it so effective. I found myself feeling sorry for Ricky and his mother in particular. They were both beautiful people and it is no surprise that they would find themselves in such difficult circumstances. If you want to see a film about young people dealing with life, then this is it.

I wasn't really sure what to expect of this movie. I have only recently become aware of gay sex, and it was by no means something that was part of my world. Having never had a "feelings" for the ladies, I have seen a fair amount of gay porn. I enjoyed the story, the direction and cinematography, and the actors. All of this combined for me to give it a rating of 9 out of 10. So, what went wrong? If you've seen the movie, I'll tell you the problems. It's clear that it's going to be controversial, and you know what. It's going to get those opinions on the internet, and that's the wrong place to go. So, if you are into that, you're in the right place. If not, this movie is probably not for you. And for those of you that love sex, you might like it. I found it to be very interesting, very well done. I really hope to see more of these kinds of films coming out, as they are definitely going to bring out an increase in the population of people who are into this. They are going to become more and more popular. And if you like this, you might also like "Love Story" which I will discuss later.

An understated comedy that reminds you of "Rocky Horror" with an anti-racist twist. One of the more subdued films this year, "The Loop" will strike a chord with those who are frustrated with politics. So much so that some have even named their own film after the film.

I thought I'd never write a review for this movie but as I did, I just had to. This movie is exactly what it sets out to be: a documentary. There are no white trash, violent gangs, and "chick flicks" that is so obvious as to be laughable. This is not a "chick flick" and that is what it is. It is a very, very realistic film about two brothers who cannot believe that they are both still alive. You get a sense of what it must have been like for them as kids. There is a great chemistry between Ray (Ethan Hawke) and Ray (Kyle Chandler) and I'm not saying this as a defense for the movie but as a counter to it, they are just a really good movie. Ethan Hawke is simply the best actor on the planet. I can't recall a better performance in all of film history. Every performance is brilliant. It seems like Ethan Hawke and Kyle Chandler are the next great actors to come out of Hollywood. I don't know about other people but I am truly impressed. This movie is a must see and it is something that you have to see to believe. "The Shawshank Redemption" was the other great film of 2007 and "The American" is one of the greatest movies of all time.

I don't want to say too much about the plot, other than that the story is full of complexity and layers. The performances are great and the music score is just perfect for the movie. No other movie can quite give you that feeling. The only downside was that I didn't feel that I had been immersed into the film enough. A story that is about people having a profound impact on the world should never be boring. No film can live up to that expectation, and, unfortunately, this one wasn't able to. Nevertheless, it was a great film. 9/10.

This film is a perfect example of the genre. It is a story about a boy, with a terrible disability, who is forced to live in a small town and learns to live with the townspeople. It is a very depressing story, but a very well written and directed one. The story is very slow and the performances are very good. The young actor who plays the main character, is excellent. He is very convincing and gives the character a lot of depth. The townspeople are very good too. They are very funny and very realistic. The story is very well told and the cinematography is very good. This film is a perfect example of a good drama. It is a very good film, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes a good drama.

After reading all the negative reviews I decided to give it a try. I was thoroughly impressed. It was simply fantastic. I never read the book, and I knew it wasn't a faithful adaptation but this film had such a wonderful plot, the characters were compelling and the performances from the actors were just great. Definitely recommend.

Having been a fan of Guy Ritchie since the late 90's I was really surprised at this film. Whilst Guy has made some brilliant movies (Brick, Never Sleep Again, Ice Pick, etc) this one takes the cake. This is perhaps one of the most realistic films I have ever seen, although perhaps a bit too dark in some parts. The acting is very good throughout and Guy has a great style to it. The violence is not overdone and the sex is also very real. Some may find this movie too graphic, and some people may not enjoy it. I personally loved it and can't wait to see more from Guy. This is his best movie to date.

As a young adult who is well known for his work in the field of martial arts, I thought this was a very good film. I was well prepared for it, but was pleasantly surprised. Some reviews stated it was unrealistic, or that it was unrealistic in the same way that some American films would be unrealistic. While it certainly is unrealistic, it is based on a true story, and is so much more than just a film about martial arts. It is a film that teaches about honesty, courage, and teamwork, and all of these qualities are demonstrated through the acting and the performance of the actors. It is definitely a film that is worth seeing.

I loved the film, and its main character. I love the music and I was blown away by the fact that it was shot on digital in a theater! I feel so spoiled by digital today that I can't even imagine what the difference would be to live in a classic movie theater. I recommend seeing this film, it was very good, you just need to sit down, and watch it. I am so happy to have stumbled upon it, and now I will be going to see it again, with friends. You should also see the film because it was a beautiful film. I am so glad the director is taking chances on making films with this sort of story, because it will change the world of movies forever. Go and watch this film, and see for yourself. I am so glad you saw it, and that you love it.

This film is brilliant. Watching it is a pleasure. The script is very smart, the acting is very good, the direction is first rate and the music is top class. It is true that some of the scenes are a little unrealistic and contrived but the way it was filmed was superb, the sets were so accurate and the whole film was brilliant. The acting in the film was superb. The boys have done a wonderful job. The acting of most of the cast was very good. It was well worth watching it. The fact that it is filmed in New Zealand makes it even better. It is beautiful. The film is not predictable. It is very exciting and a great watch. The film is excellent, never boring, very original and a great film. It is recommended. It is now one of my favourite films. It is now one of my top five films of all time. And I'll probably get my first for the whole trilogy. I'm sure it will be one of the films I get to watch. 9/10.

It's a question of whether I should like the film or not. I think it is really well done. I mean, it has a feel of a crime drama, with a little twist. The sense of isolation in a jail is much more realistic than in other Hollywood films. And the acting is excellent. The characters are well drawn and the viewer can relate to them. This movie doesn't try to do something else than to show the tragedy of criminal life. It is sad, but it's true. And the ending was surprisingly good. I liked it.

This movie is about a poor black kid from a poor family who works hard to get a good education and ends up in a gang. The movie is very realistic and has some really good scenes. The acting is pretty good, and the movie is very entertaining. It is very interesting and very well-made.
