In this animated film, a group of young people living in a strange place, who are strange in their own way, decide to break the rules by going on a journey to the legendary city of Karzia, the "City of Darkness", which is said to be the source of all evil. This film is based on a novel by Washi Hauru and is a film that combines some elements of a traditional Japanese tale with a mix of an action-adventure story and a surreal setting. The main characters are also funny and well acted. The story focuses on a group of girls who have to overcome a number of obstacles to reach Karzia, which is the source of all evil, although this part of the story is very reminiscent of a traditional Japanese story. The story revolves around a group of teenage girls who have to overcome various obstacles to reach the mysterious city of Karzia. The story is told in a way that is very similar to traditional Japanese folklore, in which the entire cast has been given a few Japanese words that they use to refer to each other. This is a kind of a story that could easily be confused with traditional Japanese folklore, and you can easily see how this might turn some people off. This is also a story that is very reminiscent of Miyazaki's films, and in many ways this is a good thing. I would recommend this film to anyone, even if you have not seen any of his other films. 8/10
I would have to say that the film is excellent. The story, characters, settings and action are all beautiful. Some people may find the animation to be lacking. If you do not have a high expectation of the movie, you will enjoy it. My wife and I loved it and I look forward to seeing it again.
I have to admit that this is not the best animation I have seen, but it was one of the best ones I've seen. It's not that they were all perfect, but in a way I didn't find the story that bad. It's not like the story was bad, I just found it a little bit silly. There is a lot of fanservice in this film. But it wasn't too bad. In fact, it was actually quite funny. The voice acting is quite good, especially by Ren, who did the voice of Chibiusa. I was surprised to see him in such a role, because he didn't have a lot of action. Still, he did a good job. All in all, I recommend this movie to anyone who likes animated films. I was amazed by this film, and I wish I could have seen it in the theater.
This movie was nominated for an Oscar, and it was incredible. This film was excellent. It is one of those rare films where the children's acting, and voice acting are so fantastic that it was one of the best things I've ever seen. I was so impressed with the voice acting of the two main characters. I also thought the voice acting was great, the voice of the little baby was amazing and made it even more exciting. This movie is incredible, and I highly recommend it.
I don't get how people can hate this film so much. I thought it was awesome. It was definitely a Japanese film at heart, but it still had the same spirit of Spirited Away. The story is good, and the animation is well done. I was especially impressed with the use of colors. It was like the characters were living in real colors. The music was great, and the songs fit the mood perfectly. The story was nice, and the characters were great. Everyone in the film is great. So the main characters are all very likable and very charming. You really can't help but love them. The reason I didn't give it a 10 was that it did have its slow parts, and it could have used some more animation. But overall, I loved it. Go see it, if you haven't already.
I'm not usually a fan of animated films but this movie was a refreshing change. It kept me entertained and at the same time sad. The story was unique and I loved the way the story was told and the way the animation was done. It really made me want to go back to the book, I couldn't wait to see what happened in the next film. It was the perfect movie for a family evening, or a night of watching it with a friend. It would make a great Christmas gift for family and friends. For me, it was a true success. I love it.
All in all, it is an amazing movie, but it was not like the other movies of the same genre. It was a little bit boring, and some of the characters seemed to not have much of a purpose. But it was a good movie, and it will get you hooked to watch it again. I recommend it to anyone who likes action and fantasy movies.
I am a long time fan of the manga, so I knew of this movie before I read the manga. It was a delight to see what happens in the manga and I liked the director's style in depicting the original story and the animation was good. I don't know if it will do well in the US, but it is definitely a good movie and definitely worth seeing. Overall, I'd give it a B+.
To be honest, I was kind of surprised by this movie. It was a rather slow beginning but by the end of the movie I was completely engrossed in it. It was very hard for me to decide if it was "Hauru no ugoku" or "Kawa no ugoku" because the story was totally different. But, in a way, both films are similar in that there is a mysterious atmosphere and the fantasy world has to do with ghosts. In "Hauru no ugoku" the ghosts are ghosts that possess the body of people. In "Kawa no ugoku" the ghosts are demons who possess the bodies of people. The movie takes place in the late 20's and early 30's in Tokyo. It is about a samurai who is transformed into a ghost after a sword is accidentally cut from his body. When he is young, he fell in love with a girl and they fell in love. Then, he becomes the ghost and tries to save the girl. However, he finds himself in a war between demons and ghosts. This war is very long and complicated. By the end of the movie, I could not figure out the ending. The music is wonderful. The movie is quite slow and in the end the director shows his daughter playing a piano. I really liked this movie. It is a good movie for families and it has an interesting story. I recommend this movie for ages 10 to adults.
This is a wonderful movie that does not need to have the "moral message" of the novel. Instead it has a simple message that I enjoyed. And the animation is wonderful. I'm always impressed with the animation of most anime. Even more so because this is one of the only animated movies I've seen that have an actual background in the real world. The animation and the music are excellent. I can't wait for the DVD to come out and I'd like to have the original film on VHS. The sound is very good. I do not understand why people hate this movie so much. It is a story about love and it is well worth seeing.
If you are not a Disney fan, then maybe you will not like this movie, but if you are a Disney fan, then this is a must-see movie. I found the first half of the movie enjoyable, and the second half more so. It's a good combination of animation, story, and the visuals of the movie. The songs are both catchy and beautiful. It's the second time I have seen this movie, and I still enjoy it, even though I haven't seen the first. I really like this movie, it is really entertaining, has a good plot, and the animation is great. So if you haven't seen it yet, please don't miss it! I gave it an 8/10. Overall, I would give this movie 8 out of 10.
Oh dear. I'm so sorry to say that I don't think I've ever actually seen a film that had so much heart and soul in it. This film is the best thing ever. I haven't seen any animation of that quality in a very long time. The voice acting is brilliant, and it really shows in the animation. Even if you don't like the fantasy genre, it is still very good. I have never seen such a heartwarming story. It is really a must-see for anyone who likes animation. And if you're a fan of Akira Toriyama, you will be pleased.
What started out as a Japanese "Wizard of Oz" has found a new life in a refreshing and thrilling sequel. The animated film, which was produced by Studio Ghibli and Japanese animation company Madhouse, centers on a young wizard named Ugo Tonks, who finds herself among the ranks of an elite team of wizards who travel to the magical land of Oz to take over the Emerald City. She is also the young daughter of a princess who was cursed to be a witch for her reckless actions, and who can only be a witch by marrying her rapist brother. In the beginning, the film is a little slow, and, after a bit, becomes predictable. The dialogues are sometimes hard to understand, but they don't linger too long. The animation is bright and colorful. And the soundtrack is catchy and beautiful. All in all, this is a great sequel to the great classic, "The Wizard of Oz".
A young princess, played by actress Rika Tanabe, is kidnapped by a mysterious woman, played by Kojiro Takahashi, to be used as a slave in the lair of a monstrous creature in the Dark Continent. Meanwhile, a band of adventurers, led by the charismatic Gun-Gunk, seek to rescue the princess. No kidding. I really liked this movie. There are some great characters, a good plot, and a dark fantasy atmosphere. It's definitely a movie to see if you're a fan of Japanese animation. The animation is quite nicely done and the characters look pretty good. There are some really scary scenes, like the scene when the princess is being picked up and transported into the dark continent. Overall, I recommend this movie to fans of Japanese animation. I give it an 8/10.
I came into this movie with high expectations. I love some of the anime, and loved the first 2 live action movies, and thought this could be the movie to replace the first two. I was pleasantly surprised. The story is compelling and well-paced, and the music adds to the experience. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes visual story telling. The ending will make you gasp and say "That's a wonderful way to end it." I highly recommend this movie, if only to remind yourself that you can enjoy animation without the sophisticated graphics and dialogue. 8/10
I'll keep this short. Why is this movie in my top 5 of all time? Easy. Because it is very accurate to Japanese folklore and mythology. I would have preferred some supernatural elements, but the kids enjoyed it so much, they didn't mind the lack of one. If you love the Legend of Zelda series, this is a great movie for you!
I was skeptical at first about this movie being an adaptation of a cartoon, and it's not. But I was pleasantly surprised. The animation, and the dialogue, were both brilliantly done, especially in the first hour. I was also impressed with the voice acting, especially to people with small roles, such as Hiroki Minagawa as the mad black witch, and Tadanobu Asano as the green masked boy. The story, and the characters, were so well drawn and interesting, you could just get lost in them. So many of the characters had some kind of physical deformity, it was clear that it was a visual style choice. I think this is something that is needed, since so many young people have these ideas of what is cute and what is not cute. The characters in this movie are actually the best depictions of their characters I've ever seen in animation. But this is not just a kids movie. I watched it with my brother and his friends, who are all about the same age, and I can tell you that these kids didn't understand it. They were too young to understand what was happening, and the movies seems very deep to them. So this movie is not just for young kids. It's also great for older people, too, because of all the advanced concepts and subtle details. This movie shows you that you can understand the world around you, and that you don't have to understand it from a certain point in time, and that you can learn from your mistakes, and take action to fix them. I have recommended this movie to all my friends, and everyone loved it, and so did I.
This movie has been brought out for the first time, and I'm glad I watched it. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I was a little worried when I heard that it was in English, but it was good. The animation is really beautiful, but the animation doesn't need to be described. I think the main reason why this is getting praise is because of the characters. The main character was cute and was also the best animation of the movie. The main villain was good, and the rest of the characters were all good as well. The story was good, and there were some parts that I was bored, but they were still good. There were some parts that were really sad, but they didn't ruin the movie. There were parts that were really funny, but they weren't over the top. I think this movie is a lot better than the previous ones that were coming out at the time, but still haven't been released in the United States. I have been following the review of this movie and so far I am impressed. I think that it is a pretty good movie, and is more than worth watching.
Gargantuas (1985) is a very interesting film, with a lot of well thought out story elements. The characters are easy to relate to, and both the young and adult characters are very likable. The animation is great, and the overall setting and story are very good. The voices aren't bad, and I can't say much about them. The soundtrack was great, and I also like the voice of Bruce Campbell (This is the End). I rate this film 8/10.
After seeing the very talented and visually stunning live action film adaptation of the manga The Mysterious Cities of Gold (2012), I was not expecting the same visual feel. I have to say, I was not disappointed. With this film's English title, that was exactly what I expected, and was not disappointed. It had the same look and feel as the 2012 film, but the story and characters were more developed. You get more screen time with all the characters, and the story was much more focused. The animation and animation of this film were great, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the style of the film. It looks beautiful, and really shows off the beauty of the Japanese culture. It is a visually stunning film, and a must see for those that like the story and have seen the previous film. 9/10
A beautiful story, full of magical things and character relationships that will tug at your heartstrings. If you like magical movies, see this movie. I can't wait to see the next in this series, and to watch the entire series.
Once I got home I was all 'fluff' and 'swag' and wanted to watch the movie in order to have a fantastic time with my wife. First of all, I wasn't impressed with the story and the movie's direction, I think it would've been better had I watched it in the cinema. To me it just was too childish for my liking, it was very bizarre to watch. I have to admit I like the characters, but there's not much of a story in the movie, it was just an extended 'love story' type of story. I'm all for characters and they're trying to express their feelings in a manner that will bring them out in the public, but the movie is really too long and boring and all they did was show some parts and the rest of the story. I also like the animation, but I'm not a huge fan of the animation style, some of the scenes were very weak and so messy that you don't know where all the lines are, so there's a lot of gaps in the animation style. The music is good, I liked the song that it was based on, but it was the only good part of the movie, the rest is just boring and repetitive. The characters are all cute, and they do express their feelings, but I don't know why they wanted to make the movie so childish, I don't understand why they wanted to do that. The story is just to make people fall in love with the characters, the story is very overused and repetitive and also boring. It just felt like a movie that should have a happy ending, and that's it. The story, characters, animation, and soundtrack were all very nice, I think they all did a great job. The story is very simple, but it is one of the best animated movies I've seen, I would recommend everyone to watch it, it's good.
