When an iridescent meteorite plummets from outer space and into the property and foundations of a remote New England estate, a malignant force begins to insidiously permeate the lives of an unassuming family. The effects are gradual - time begins to dilate, nature assumes an otherworldly hue - and all things bright and beautiful eventually mutate and corrupt under its influence. So proceeds this eerie adaptation of the short story by H.P. Lovecraft, one of horror's most haunting, here presented by the enigmatic South African filmmaker Richard Stanley. Returning to Midnight Madness 29 years after his hypnotic killer-robot fandango Hardware first premiered in the section, Stanley summons his uniquely hallucinogenic sensibilities to envelope his endearing characters in surreal, incremental dread. At first, their domestic bliss is quietly fraught with an undercurrent of unnerving tension, before eventually boiling over into delirious, acid-fueled terror. The patriarch of this doomed brood is none other than Nicolas Cage, continuing his recent renaissance as a midnight-movie staple with an increasingly unhinged performance that reliably ricochets among every technique in the Stanislavski playbook. The rest of the ensemble, which includes Joely Richardson and Tommy Chong, play effective foils to Cage's delirium, but the real star of the show is the alien entity itself. This all-consuming, dispassionate menace manifests itself in a series of grotesque, body-horror, and psychedelic spectacles, worthy of its ineffable literary origins.

With all the ratings the movie received, I was pleasantly surprised. If you like the feel of the original, then you'll like this movie, but if you're expecting a movie to follow the original and you're not a fan of Space, then you're going to be disappointed. Don't let that put you off. First off, this movie's the same as the original, but it's not the same as the original. The movie follows the original Space trilogy, not the original Alien series. That being said, the movie is a good movie with an excellent ending. The acting was alright, the special effects were not that great, but for a movie that is marketed towards science fiction, the effects are very good. In the beginning of the movie, the special effects looked good, but when they get to the part of the aliens, they looked terrible. I would say the effects were not as good as they should be. The acting was alright, and I thought the acting by Sigourney Weaver was a little cheesy. She could have done better, but she was alright. Aliens was probably the best part of the movie, and it is because of Aliens. The scene in the beginning of the movie where they are dealing with the aliens is very cool. The scene where they're fighting with the aliens was great. The movie's message was good, but not as great as the original. The movie's message is that we need to be smarter and more rational. If you're not into Aliens or Sci-Fi, this movie is not for you. The movie's message is very strong, but not as strong as the original. I really enjoyed the message, and it makes you think and think about your beliefs. The movie made me think about my beliefs, and was very good. Aliens was my favorite movie of all time, and I think this movie was a good movie. I give it an 8/10.

This film was originally intended to be a movie for kids, and it was made for the kids. The acting was pretty good, although I didn't find the main character very likable. However, I found the female lead to be rather appealing, and the young kid actor who played her brother was very good. I also enjoyed the special effects and the special effects supervisor was very good. The film was set in a future, where technology has advanced to the point where the human race is no longer limited to space travel. We have interplanetary travel, which involves a small spacecraft, and a large spaceship, or asteroid. It was a good premise for a movie. The story itself was good, but it was not the best thing about the movie. I found the script to be very weak. It was very predictable and it was not scary. The story seemed to go in a straight line, and I found it to be very predictable. There was no twist to the story. Overall, I thought the movie was very good, but it wasn't the best thing about the movie. It was not a good movie, but it was worth a watch.

Much better than I had expected. Lots of great effects. And the sets were well done, I felt like I was walking into a movie like Aliens with the added benefit of having knowledge of modern technology. The producers, at least for a brief moment, seemed to attempt to make the film a little different from other Sci-Fi movies. For example, when the news crew was having a two-way conversation with two actors who were mostly black, the whole crew turned to view the same screen on the other side of the room. Pretty good. All the cast were amazing, not only were they believable in the movie, they were also some of the most likable and attractive actors I have ever seen. Of course, this movie is about science fiction, so if you're going to enjoy this, you will need to know what that genre is about. But this movie was a good start, and I'm looking forward to more.

We don't see too much of this film here on IMDb, I remember watching it for the first time when I was a kid in the 80's. It was the first film I saw that, as the title suggested, I thought was about the stuff that would happen to astronauts during space travel. I remember thinking about it for the rest of the movie. It was cool. If you have any interest in science fiction, you will appreciate this movie for the quality of the effects and the quality of acting. There's no need to argue that the film deserves all the acclaim it's gotten. It's a classic.

I first saw this movie in the theaters when I was a teenager and was very impressed with the effects and effects. I was very pleased to find out that it was a sequel to the first movie and the effects were even better. I think the effects were even better because they were based on a real story. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who has a good imagination and wants to be entertained. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I didn't like this movie when I saw it in the theaters, but I enjoyed it upon my own. This movie is very weird, it is not like other Sci-Fi movies. This movie is really creative and I would say it is the best Sci-Fi movie in the past ten years, and I don't think it will get the respect that it deserves, but it deserves it. It is also my favourite film in the past ten years so I definitely recommend it. If you haven't seen this movie, I recommend that you go see it!

I'm a huge fan of the Alien series and this one is no exception. I don't really know why, but I have seen it a few times and I still enjoy it. It is a horror movie with a good story and a good ending. The special effects were awesome and the special effects team did an excellent job on this one. The story is good and I don't mind the ending. If you're a fan of the Alien movies you'll probably like this one. It's worth seeing. I give it an 8 out of 10.

I am a big fan of the Alien movies. I have seen all the movies and even watched them again and again. I was not disappointed when I saw this movie. It was really well made. It was a good story and the acting was great. The special effects were great and the special effects were great. I loved the movie. It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I am not going to spoil the movie but I will tell you that this movie was really well done. I was so excited to see it and I was not disappointed. I give this movie a 10 out of 10. It was really well done and it was a great movie. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

One of the best alien-invasion films since the classic Invasion of the Body Snatchers. This is a sci-fi movie that manages to be a good horror movie while still retaining the initial premise of the first. The characters are great. The main characters, Quint, with his aspirations to help mankind, and Nina, the leader of the group trying to stop the aliens from taking over the planet. The one downside is that this movie is really cliched. There are some moments where I really wanted a different story from this one. The whole thing was predictable at times, especially the romance. The aliens look great. If you want to see a really good alien-invasion film, definitely check out Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I have nothing against gore, but this one was somewhat different from other genre films I've seen. The characters were interesting and you can feel for them. The computer created virus was cool. The climax was excellent. The story was well written and believable. The tension was there for the entire movie. I really liked it and am looking forward to the sequel. If you are looking for a good sci-fi flick, this one is definitely worth the watch.

Only the special effects and the special effects alone can make a movie worth seeing. This movie has that. It has atmosphere, some good acting, good sci-fi, and a pretty good story. John Carpenter's first sequel in the science fiction series (1979) had a great story, and this movie follows it up. It's also really good, as there are a lot of slow spots in the movie, but the ending is great. This movie is all about the characters, and I was very satisfied with how it turned out.

I have been watching the STAR WARS films since they were first released on VHS in 1977. Since I am a fan of both films I had a lot of expectations for this particular release and my expectations were not met. I am a fan of the original trilogy of STAR WARS but I have never really been a fan of the later films. I know they did some things that were really well done, and that's cool, but it's also possible that some of those changes were just done for the sake of doing it or just the director's view. But as far as I can tell none of the changes made sense. You could throw a couple of actors into a scene and have them fall in love with each other, but there's no real reason for it to happen. I thought the deleted scenes and additions to the first movie were good and entertaining. Now that I have seen the fourth movie in the series I have a different opinion. This movie is just lame. I think they should have just called it "The Lone Ranger" or something and not have to explain all the backstory of the character. It would have helped the film a lot and made the story flow better. The deleted scenes didn't add anything to the story or the characters, and it was just really lame. The acting wasn't bad at all. The whole STAR WARS universe was so huge and it would have been nice to see some characters that were missing, but they didn't do anything to fill in the gap. I think the original trilogy movies were the ones that were the best, but the sequels did not measure up to the original films. I have read that some people didn't like this movie because of the romance angle, and while that is true to some degree I have to say I don't think it was what the movie was all about. The story was just a story about what would happen if an alien was taken to the planets of our own world and was found by human beings. I think it was better when it was revealed that the alien was actually a clone of the original guy and they revealed that at the end of the movie, which was great. It was an awesome ending to the film and I think that if the other four sequels had been like this one, the movie would have been far better. Also I would have liked to see a bit more time spent with Anakin, Padme, and the rest of the crew. They were almost treated like their own family and we had so much to learn about them. It would have been nice to see some of them in action again and have more screen time for them. The first movie was a great introduction to the world of the new STAR WARS movies and this was just a weird movie. 8/10

The first time I saw this movie I was a little confused, but the more I watched it the more I enjoyed it. The special effects were great, the story was great, and the acting was great. I have watched this movie a few times now and I have no problem with it. I am glad I saw it and I hope others will see it too. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes Sci-Fi and is a fan of Star Wars.

This is quite simply one of the most original and original Sci-Fi films I have ever seen. If you are looking for a great Sci-Fi film with a definite sense of style and story you cannot find a better movie. It is a cinematic experience in every sense of the word. The design, the actors, the environments, the ideas, the script. It is all of the above. It is a living breathing movie and a worthy companion piece to any Sci-Fi fan's collection. It is a film I can recommend to anyone who is looking for a genre classic to watch on a Saturday afternoon. It is a film that has been moved from 1 star to 2 stars because it is such a wonderful film that it deserves all of that. Truly a film you can watch over and over again.

With the visual and audio delights of Kubrick's 'The Shining', came a new kind of horror movie that became known as 'Alien'. A strange goo and strange flora and fauna mixed with monsters and weapons. The science-fiction element from Ridley Scott was borrowed from "Lord of the Rings", as was the visual look of the movie, but what's new is that Kubrick himself, with the help of the cast, made this a horror movie. It was not the slick sci-fi or the visual fluff, but was the gore, the flabbergasting of the aliens, the alien's slow movement, the sex and the suspense. Sure, it was about humans getting taken over by aliens, but this was a horror movie with a little bit of horror and a lot of suspense. This movie had a bit of a slow start, but then it took off. But this was not some plot hole or that you were not familiar with the previous movies. It was just about the characters interacting and taking the movie to it's finish. An intense movie, for sure. They did this because it had the best music and the best sound. Some of the characters were well known actors in their own movies. Kirsten Dunst was very good and the main character where also good. Richard Roxburgh was a good villain. But I would have liked to have known who he was. Another thing I really liked was the scene that it looked like the aliens were on their own, but then it looked like they were out in the open. I liked the look of the aliens in this movie, they had the best eyes in the movie. And their voices were so good, you could really hear it. When the kids were in the house, the sound was so quiet you could hear it. But when the aliens came out in the woods and the mother was trying to run away, you could hear them. I also liked that the aliens were in the car, but it seemed they would jump out at the right moment. The special effects were great. The aliens were really weird, but they were also cool. The best part of the movie, for me, was the suspense. I wanted to know what was happening. The movie was really good, but I was a little disappointed in the ending. I thought it was too rushed and I liked the ending better in 'The Shining'. But overall, I thought it was a good movie. I recommend it to all horror movie fans. The score is excellent. The sound effects are also fantastic. So, I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10.

I haven't seen this movie since it was released in the late eighties, but I remember it was very scary and I remember the ending. The movie reminded me of the movie "The Shining" in the way it was very creepy and scary. There was a lot of blood and gore and the acting was very good, but the ending was a little different. I don't think this movie is for everyone. It is very, very scary, but there is a lot of violence and blood and gore and some people may not like it. But it is very good and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good scary movie. 8/10

This movie is the best alien movie of all time. It is very well made and it has a very good story line. The special effects are amazing and it is very well done. It is a must see movie for any sci-fi fan. It is very interesting and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. I give this movie a 10 out of 10.

I think the main reason this movie is so popular is because of the fact that it was made in the 80's. The story is very simple, but the special effects are amazing and the acting is very good. This is a must see movie for anyone who loves science fiction, and especially for those who are interested in the science fiction genre. I think that this movie is a 10/10, and I recommend it to anyone who loves science fiction.
