To Kill a Mockingbird is a movie starring Gregory Peck, John Megna, and Frank Overton. Atticus Finch, a lawyer in the Depression-era South, defends a black man against an undeserved rape charge, and his children against prejudice.
Through the eyes of "Scout," a feisty six-year-old tomboy, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD carries us on an odyssey through the fires of prejudice and injustice in 1932 Alabama. Presenting her tale first as a sweetly lulling reminiscence of events from her childhood, the narrator draws us near with stories of daring neighborhood exploits by her, her brother "Jem," and their friend "Dill." Peopled with a cast of eccentrics, Maycomb, a "tired and sleepy town" modeled after Lee's native Monroeville, finds itself as the venue of the trial of Tom Robinson, a young black man falsely accused of raping an ignorant white woman. Atticus Finch, Scout and Jem's widowed father and deeply principled man, is appointed to defend Tom for whom a guilty verdict from an all-white jury is a foregone conclusion. Juxtaposed against the story of the trial, is the children's hit and run relationship with Boo Radley, a shut-in whom the children, and Dill's Aunt Rachel, suspect of insanity, and whom no one has seen in recent history. Cigar-box treasures, found in the knot hole of a tree near the ramshackle Radley house, temper the children's judgment of Boo. "You never know someone," Atticus tells Scout, "until you step inside their skin and walk around a little." But fear keeps them at a distance until one night, in streetlight and shadows, the children confront an evil born of ignorance and blind hatred, and must somehow find their way home.

This movie is a masterpiece. I mean, it's hard to imagine a movie that more beautifully depicts the post-Civil War Reconstruction and the hard work that was needed to put it all together. The casting is superb, the story is great, and the acting is amazing. It's hard to imagine that the writer and director was a woman. And that's the beauty of this film, it's a female-driven piece of art. It's about how men and women are different. The whole movie is centered around that idea. It's true. The movie is very powerful. And it's very interesting to watch, especially with all the gore and blood that is involved. It's very entertaining. I also thought it was very well-made. I loved the way that it looked. The cinematography was really beautiful. I also loved the sets. The movie is very well-filmed. There are some really cool shots in this film. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite movies. It's a beautiful, wonderful movie. I recommend it to anyone. It's a great film that deserves to be seen by more people. A beautiful, very powerful film. 10/10.
In the end this movie was more about the women and the old style racism. The biggest factor in the movie is how they portrayed the character of Mockingbird. She was so fragile and brave. The movie portrays her bravery and she proves that she is not just a damsel in distress, she is a human being. The other factor that made this movie so great was the screenplay. If you have ever read the book then you will know that the movie is not based on the book. However, it was very well done. I am looking forward to the next movies and I hope that they will follow the path that the author of the book took. It was a beautiful movie and I would recommend it to anyone who has not seen the movie and are interested in the book.
I love this movie. It is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It has a lot of laughs and tears but it has a message. This movie is a classic, and if you have never seen it you should. It is extremely well made, and the cast is excellent. If you are looking for a good movie that you can watch over and over again then this is it. It is a story of redemption and has an interesting twist at the end. The cast is amazing, with amazing performances. This is a film that you should see. It is also a film that is hard to find. I was lucky enough to get a copy from a library. If you have not seen this movie you should be.
It was difficult to find the movie in the local video store, so I rented it on the internet and was completely delighted. This is a story that many would be offended by, yet it is so much better than the average movie. The acting is brilliant. Harper Lee was a wonderful storyteller, and Robert Redford's portrayal of Scout Finch is amazing. I hope that the filmmakers can make more movies like this one, and keep up the great work that they do.
This is my favourite movie of all time. The characters are very well developed and are well developed in the whole movie. The direction is good and the cinematography is amazing. I saw the film in the cinema with a group of students and we all loved it. Everyone at the cinema seemed to be laughing, as did I. This is one of those movies that is so well written, and not one bit dull. A must see.
If there is one movie that makes me want to be a writer, it is this one. That the screenwriter was recognized with the academy award is beyond me. The script was so wonderful. It is hard to believe that a novel was written and just edited for a movie. After watching the movie I thought, "What the hell did I just watch?" It was amazing. The movie has a great ending. The ending made me say, "That was a great ending". The movie is so moving and beautiful. The movie will make you feel like you are in the middle of the novel. That is the only reason that I will recommend this movie to anyone.
I have only just been able to see this movie the day it opened in the UK. I just returned from the cinema to see it again in a few days time. I really can't recommend it enough. The acting is very good, as is the script. It has been adapted from the novel, and I hope that it is a success. This is one of the best films of the year.
An excellent story of one man's journey to win the hearts of a young girl, played by Janet Leigh. She is as real as it gets, without even the slightest hint of acting, to play a character so different from any other portrayal of a girl's life. And as the movie progresses, you'll start to see the boy's life as a kind of an extension of the girl's, and a very sad thing indeed. I don't know if I'm being biased or biased, because I don't think that the movie should be praised for its portrayal of girls' lives, but rather the deep character of young girl. The boy is a kind of hero, as much as a brother to the girl. It's very touching to see that the boy didn't just save her from danger, but also saved her from herself. You begin to believe that maybe that's not the only way to make a difference in your own life, and that sometimes what you do to save someone else can be very beneficial to you. And then the movie makes you think, and that's what the whole story is about. I could not finish watching it in one sitting, because I wanted to see it over and over again, and it's that kind of movie that just gets better the more you watch it. And the ending is very touching and has a wonderful conclusion.
This movie is so much better than the previous ones. It is a simple story about a boy, who lives with his Grandmother, and his Grandmother is a very sensitive and moral woman. She wants to protect her grandson. But he doesn't have the courage to do it, and so she makes a lot of mistakes, and the grandson is very sad and he's just like a child. The atmosphere of the movie is very eerie. It is a very quiet movie, and it's not really a horror movie. It's a dark and dark movie, and I think that the way the movie is directed and the atmosphere is very good. I really recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch a film that's more suitable for a school audience.
What is the point of being a good American? What is the point of being a good white boy? I think, this film has everything. It has a perfect mix of time periods, the main character is a teenager, the role reversal between the black and white man is played brilliantly and of course the ending is perfect. It all makes sense. A film like this deserves to be watched more than once. It has to be watched. If you have not seen this film, go and see it now.
While this film has flaws, it is so good that it merits a top rating. Even though I am of the opinion that it is not a "biblical" story, I still find it interesting. This is a very strong film. It has a great cast, great dialogue, great cinematography, great music, great story.and a strong story. I am impressed. This is a great film.

If you're a fan of this type of film, you will not be disappointed. But if you're not, it is definitely worth your while. The action scenes were beautifully executed and well-done. This was the first film for most of the actors that I have seen. I'd say that all actors did a great job. Meryl Streep is great. While I haven't seen her in anything before, I think she did a great job. Also, I like her voice. In some of the other comments, I've noticed that the female actors often make the comments that they make. I have a friend who is a male singer and I have a friend who is a male singer and they've both been in movies together. I guess that's how the female singers get their comments. I think it's great how they do that. I also think that when the men make the comments, it's not as entertaining as it is when the women do. I'll give the male singers credit for doing that. Overall, it was a really great movie. You'll definitely enjoy it. I give it a 9 out of 10.
This film is a rare beast - a film with some violence and sex, but not a whole lot else. And I liked it. It does not pretend to be anything more than what it is - a story about a boy who's fate is decided by a God-like puppet master (Harvey Keitel) who takes him into his arms. This is a more than capable movie, but not perfect. The way the plot develops is less than convincing and the ending is not particularly satisfying. However, it is by far the most entertaining of all the films I have ever seen. It is a wonderful film, a perfect reflection of the day in America, when the gap between rich and poor was wide enough to swallow a moon. A movie that we can all enjoy and appreciate.
I think that this is the best film that I have seen all year. Not only is it about a book, but it is a character study, and I thought that the film was simply superb. The performances were great, and the direction was very well done. It is truly a masterpiece, and it would be a shame for this film to be underrated. Even though it is an American film, the real point of the film is to encourage Americans to read the classic story of this great American author. I can't think of a better way to do this than to watch this film, and recommend it to everyone.
Many of the reviews here for this movie are saying how bad it is, but they haven't seen the movie, or haven't read the book. I saw the movie and thought it was excellent. The performances were outstanding, the direction was excellent, and the cinematography was excellent. I also thought the story was well told, and the characters were well developed. This movie is a perfect, modern version of the classic novel, and it has a great story. The only complaint I have is that the ending was a little forced. Overall, this is a wonderful movie that can be enjoyed by all ages. And, I can't wait for the next one to come out. If you haven't seen the movie, go see it, you won't be disappointed.
I just have to say how much I love this movie. The acting was superb. The story was as good as I have seen it. The whole way through I thought that I was going to go "woah woah" when the movie started. After about an hour, I was actually crying! I think that this movie will be the one that gets all the best actors in Hollywood. That's a good thing because it shows that great actors can act. I can tell you that people that aren't going to like this movie are going to hate it because they will not understand that it's not supposed to be taken too serious. It's about the human race. I guess you can call it a crime story. It's a good movie that everyone should see. I would recommend it to anyone who loves movies.
It is the story of the book and the film is not different in anyway. It is amazing how the film does not make a single mistake in the story, and the book is about a girl, not a boy. The young actors are very good and the actors who have been in this film have done an excellent job. I've seen this film three times and I still don't understand why people are hating it, it is one of the best films I have ever seen.
Although the film is generally considered to be one of the worst ever made, this does not necessarily mean it's a bad film. It's a very good film, with a great story and a fine cast. The acting is a real shame, especially for Barbara Streisand and James Stewart. Their performances are great, and they are not even given to little screen time. It's hard to believe that they're so young, but that's what makes them good actors. My only issue with the film is that the film has no climax. It never does get to a place where you know the ending, and you are left with nothing. This is one of those films where you might have a couple of questions, but you have no clue what will happen. If you watch this film, and you don't get the answers, then you have missed out on a good film.
What an excellent movie. I have not read the book, but it was more of a let down to me than a great film. There was so much to like about this film, I have no words for it. The acting, direction, set, sound, everything was top notch. I think that the only thing that could have been done better was to have had a little more to the film than just a look at the past. The music was a great accompaniment to the whole film. The writing was good and didn't make me lose concentration or lose the story, just a good solid film. The story was interesting and I was hooked the whole time. I would recommend this movie to anyone, and I will buy it on DVD, and watch it again and again and again and again. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I did.
