I've been a fan of Silver Streak since I first saw it in the theatre, and I loved the film in its original English-language run. Then the day before its original release in the US, it was "enhanced" with new material from the director, Pankaj Kapur, which I thought was quite good. But after seeing it again, it was absolutely awful. The new material is a few minutes too long and distracts from the film, the story is too long and the acting is the worst I've seen. Even the original English-language version, though beautifully shot, was inferior to the new version. (It's also a shame that Pankaj Kapur didn't do more with the material that he was given.) The original Silver Streak is a classic, and so should the newer Silver Streak. The new Silver Streak should be banned from theaters in the US and should be an example to any aspiring filmmakers of the danger of meddling with your source material. Not only is the film terrible, but the whole saga is more boring than the original.

I don't know if it's the first or second time I saw this film, but I just finished watching it again. I do think that the first viewing was the better one. I was a little underwhelmed by it. The story doesn't really go anywhere. It is basically a retelling of the stories of the three 'heroes' that are the basis of this story. However, there is also a story of what happened after that, as well as a reflection on the fact that the war was won. I didn't really buy into the whole 'culture of hate' part. There is a scene where a soldier (voiced by the always wonderful Jim Broadbent) complains to the top brass that the men in his company didn't have a 'real leader'. I guess that is what the filmmakers were trying to say, but I couldn't get behind it. That scene seemed a little to idealistic. On the other hand, I did get behind the scene where they are in a bar, having a drink and reminiscing about the war, and one of the characters says that there are no heroes anymore. I'm not sure if that is what the filmmakers were trying to say, or if it was the characters that were trying to say that. It was definitely a good attempt to portray the end of the war, and I enjoyed it. I just felt that it could have been a little more developed. The acting was superb, especially by Tom Hardy. As a final comment, I would recommend this film to anyone. However, I can't really give it the highest rating, because it has a few flaws that keep it from being an absolute classic.

Ron does not like the fact that he is being asked to be a man. He does not want to be the man and he tries to do everything to make his life more normal. He makes friends with a lot of women and all of them seem like they are very normal and normal people. The only problem is that they are not normal and they are not good. Anita is a little out of the norm and is very nice to everyone. They are having a very good time. One of the best things about the movie is that it really gets to you and makes you feel like you are in the movie. Then the movie turns into something so different from the story. This movie is definitely worth seeing.

The people who are saying that this is a waste of time, are probably the same people who gave this a bad review. This movie is not as long as some of the other movies I have seen. This movie is so much fun. It's about a fictional 1950's Army unit, "The Ducks", that goes into Burma in order to get the downed Japanese pilot, Dr. Takano. But, the ducks are not alone. Along with them is their German pilot, Helmut, who was captured by the Japanese during WWII and was released in a prisoner swap. After his release, he sets out to find the ducks and try to kill Dr. Takano. When he does, he is met with resistance from the Duck Commandos and the Tigers. If that wasn't enough, they have to fight a German army that wants to kill them. This is a movie about love and hope and about human spirit. The acting is brilliant. Telly Savalas is great as the German. The actors playing the Japanese soldiers are also great. They are given such a great and realistic look at their culture. I loved this movie and can't wait for it to come out on DVD. It's a must see.

I've just seen this movie. I've never been a big fan of Jeff Bridges but this movie is so funny. I never saw it in the theaters so I didn't really know what to expect. I thought it would be some stupid comedy with some cliche Hollywood cliche type characters. But the characters were so funny, it was great. The cast is fantastic. I loved every single one of them. I'm not sure why they didn't win an Oscar for this movie. The performances are great. Bridges is great, and it's nice to see him in a movie that he really does his job. Michelle Pfeiffer is so cute and innocent. She's perfect for the part. I've never seen her in anything before, but she was perfect. Bradley Cooper is also great. He's a great actor. He's so funny. The supporting cast is just fantastic. I'm a big fan of the director and I loved his work. I think this movie is worth seeing.
