It's a sad day when a movie with such a great story is ruined by a weak script. I loved this movie, and I don't see why it's getting such bad reviews. I just don't get the hate for this movie. It's a great story, and it's well acted. I give it a 10.

What was mentioned was a situation in which the United States was going to be the only country that was willing to stand by its ally Israel in the face of a new and seemingly unstoppable enemy, and that the United States would be the only country that would be willing to sacrifice one of its own soldiers. That was the core of the story that was presented. And that was the core of the film. If you want to see a film that has a message and does not have a political agenda, this is a good film for you to see. If you want to see a film that has a message, and does not have a political agenda, then go see the previous films. Otherwise, this film was pretty much the polar opposite of Platoon, which is why it is not in my top five.

It's all there: a team of actors, one of whom is a major star, who are thrown together by an admiral to work for the enemy. The acting is superb, especially in supporting roles, but it's the great production value that makes this a winner. We have a cast of about seven-some and they all do a great job. Even the lesser known ones have a big role. The best performance comes from Helen Mirren as a British nurse in the Luftwaffe who needs to persuade a senior officer to shoot a German agent, but she isn't up to the task. Ian McShane is one of the heroes, and of course Cillian Murphy is a highlight. Also notable are Halle Berry and Eva Green. The ending is surprising, but the movie itself is all right.

After watching "Le Grand Canail" and "Le Grand Canail plus" I was expecting a movie on the same scale. That was my problem. The two movies were two hours long, but not in a good way. The first part of "Le Grand Canail" was interesting. I was impressed that the script kept the story going, and that it did not look like a bad documentary. However, the second part of the movie is a mixture of amateurism and a rather mediocre Hollywood production. In particular, the war scenes were very well done, but were simply "over the top". A short story by Napoleon Dynamite was substituted by some "this and that". The good thing is that the movie "The French Revolution" did not feel like a documentary. The final conclusion was good, but could have been better. I think that the producers should have tried a bit more, to get a better production and to fit a better movie. However, this is a movie for the general public, and this one was very well made. 8/10.

A massive battle ensues, which is well done and even good. The Russo's then have to do a stand off against the Redcoats, which is also well done. They do it well and they show it off. The problem is that this is followed by the story of how the Redcoats came to be, which is completely flat and does not help the film. They should have shown us how the Redcoats got to be so powerful and how the Russo family was able to survive. And then the end of the film, which is just flat. I was like "Wow, this is so bad." The problem is that the plot is so fine and that the plot is good. But then there is just so much potential. So much potential that I felt like I was watching a movie with good characters and a great story, but then the story was just a flat, one dimensional story. It is like if you had told the story of the movie and then the story of the movie was so flat and one dimensional that it was a disaster. The actors in the film are good. I have always liked Leonardo DiCaprio and he is always great in the film, and it is good that he is the main star. He was great in The Departed, and he is good here. He is the good guy, he is the villain, he is the hero, and he is the bad guy. This is the kind of performance that is used in the best movies, and I think he was perfect for the role.
