Dying to Know is an intimate portrait celebrating two very complex controversial characters in an epic friendship that shaped a generation. In the early 1960s Harvard psychology professors Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert began probing the edges of consciousness through their experiments with psychedelics. Leary became the LSD guru, asking us to think for ourselves, igniting a global counter-cultural movement and landing in prison after Nixon called him 'the most dangerous man in America'. Alpert journeyed to the East becoming Ram Dass, a spiritual teacher for an entire generation who continues in his 80s teaching service through compassion. With interviews spanning 50 years the film invites us into the future encouraging us to ponder questions about life, drugs & the biggest mystery of all: death.

I think this film is a must see for anyone interested in life. I am glad to see a film about the life of one of the most influential people in the history of our species. It is wonderful to see an opportunity to be able to tell the story of one of the most significant minds of our time. The film is about how he saw himself in his life and how he saw the world. It was also about his ideas and how they affected his life. He is an inspiration to me, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet him. I am glad to have the opportunity to see the film again, and I hope that it is available for purchase. I think that it is a great film. The filming is wonderful and the production values are very high. The music is also very good. I think that this film has a very important message. I would recommend this film to anyone, because it is very important. I would recommend that anyone who is interested in the life of one of the greatest minds in history watch this film. It is a must see for anyone who has an interest in life, and it is a great film. I give it a 10/10.
I saw this movie when it first came out in the theaters and was blown away. I bought the DVD recently and was pleased to find that it still holds up well. The documentary was excellent and kept me interested the entire time. I also enjoyed the interviews with Timothy Leary and Ram Dass. Leary said that he had a great deal of difficulty getting the film made because he felt that his life was not well documented. I think that's what made this movie so great. I have never seen anything like it and was blown away. The film was also very well made and well edited. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys documentaries and has a great deal of interest in the history of psychedelic drugs. This is a must see for everyone.
The movie has an interesting premise. While Ram Dass was a musician who spoke eloquently about his life, he was also a con-man who got rich selling LSD. I don't know if the movie's plot is true, but it certainly sounds interesting. I do not agree with the way the movie depicts Leary. He was a great guy who had some good ideas. But he was never a brilliant or even a great thinker. He was an entertainer who had some good ideas. He never had the ability to bring people to their knees. This is a good movie to watch if you are interested in the idea of drugs. It's definitely not a great movie.
This documentary is the most honest and truthful movie I have ever seen on the topic of psychedelic drugs. This documentary takes us back to the 60's and includes interviews with the subject of this film, Timothy Leary, as well as the main players in the psychedelic scene, including Ram Dass, Timothy Leary, and a young David Bowie. The film also includes a great amount of archival footage, which provides a very accurate picture of the psychedelic movement in the 60's and the decades after. The documentary also includes interviews with Timothy Leary, Peter Gabriel, and others. The documentary is both informative and entertaining, and it will definitely have you in tears from laughing to crying.
I've always liked Dr. Ram Dass, but I had never heard of Timothy Leary until I came across this documentary. Leary, who was a major influence on Dass, has gone down in history as one of the most influential people of the 20th century. And the documentary makes clear that Dass was influenced by both Leary and Leary's wife, who went on to found the Mennonite church, a movement that was initially based on Christian principles and teachings, but has since been criticized for not being particularly Christian. As the documentary states, Dass and Leary did not have a common political stance, but both were committed to a form of spirituality that emphasized "non-violent non-conformity," which was a way of life that was highly individualistic. Dass was also an atheist, and as he states in the documentary, his atheism was not meant to be a sign of weakness, but rather a way of life. As the documentary suggests, Dass saw that it was the individual's duty to follow their own conscience and not impose it upon others. Leary, on the other hand, saw that people should follow their own conscience. This is one of the main things that makes this documentary so special. It is a perfect example of how one man's ideas could transform a country, and in many ways, it is a perfect example of how a documentary can have such a profound effect on an audience. To me, this documentary is one of the best documentaries ever made, and it will forever remain one of my all-time favorites.
The documentary, "Dying to Know" is a very powerful and compelling portrait of an early 20th century American thinker, whose writing was the basis for the cult-like movement that arose around him. The film's narrative is told in a direct, raw and unflinching manner, capturing the essence of Leary's message of compassion and love. Leary was a brilliant, inspiring thinker who was a powerful influence on American culture and politics. It was his writings that formed the basis for the New Left, which was an influence on the anti-war movement. It was his writings that helped create the modern, hippie movement. But one thing he never was was a racist. He made a huge mistake in making the statement that he was a "victim of the Vietnam War". His entire life was based on the idea that he was a victim of the Vietnam War and it was his fault for not doing more to end it. It was a major mistake for him to say that. He was a true hero of the anti-war movement, but he was never a racist. He was a human being and not a victim of racism. This film is a must see for anyone who has any interest in understanding the man and his legacy.
This is a wonderful film. It is a must-see for all. Tim Robbins is an excellent actor. I have seen him in many films, including "Howards End", "Thirteen Days" and "Animal Kingdom". His performance in this film is also great. His performance is great because of his personality. His accent is excellent. His performance is great because of his passion. The film is a must-see. I will buy the DVD.
I would say that this is the best documentary I've seen in years. It's interesting and the information is very relevant. I watched it about two years ago and it's still relevant. I can't really explain the meaning of this movie, other than it's very meaningful and very moving. The best part is that there are no words to describe what the movie is. It is very sad and it really captures the essence of the meaning of this film. The movie will make you think and it will make you feel sad. I recommend this movie to anyone who is looking for a documentary that's also very insightful and the information it provides is very interesting.
What a great documentary. I love it. I thought it was very well done. I've watched this film 5 times. I've had some trouble with subtitles but it is just as easy to understand as the original. It is a very good documentary. It gives you a very good picture of the mind of the author of LSD. He was a great mind and this movie is about his life. I thought that the interviews were very good and it made the story a lot more interesting. If you like movies that show the history of LSD and the mind of LSD users you should definitely watch this movie.
The documentary on Dada is certainly a fascinating one. However, if you're interested in the history of LSD and its potential, it's best to skip this one. The film goes in a very shallow and simplistic direction, focusing on the "life" of Leary and Dada. This is not to say that it's a bad documentary. I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. However, it does leave the viewer with a bad taste in their mouth. I think that it's just a bit too simplistic to be considered a documentary. It also is hard to keep up with the history of Dada. However, I think that this is a good documentary for people who want to learn about LSD. I give this a 7/10.
I really liked the interview, it was great and informative. I loved seeing Timothy Leary speak about his work and how his research led him to the discovery of LSD. I also liked the interviews with the other people who were involved in the making of the film, it was very interesting. I'm glad they were not afraid to go in a different direction, and tell their own stories. I think the documentary did a great job in showing us how LSD affected people. I can see how some people might be offended by the way the film was edited. It was very brief, but that is why it was great. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who likes to learn about the history of LSD. I think it is very interesting and it shows how LSD affected people. It is an interesting film, it is a great film, and it is a must see.
I went to see this documentary not expecting much, but it was one of the most inspiring documentaries I've ever seen. I was taken back to my days at college when I learned about psychedelics and their relationship to our soul. The documentary is riveting and incredibly powerful. Timothy Leary is a truly inspiring figure who brought about a paradigm shift in the U.S. through his work with LSD. I think he was the most important person in the world who got involved with the world of psychedelic drug use and came to see that it was a force for good. I think this film shows that psychedelics are not for everyone and that many people need to understand that psychedelics are not just for fun or recreation. The film also shows that Timothy Leary did not have to be a drug addict to start changing the world, he could have been anyone. I think this film shows how important it is to start learning about psychedelics and start using them to help people. I hope that this film is seen by as many people as possible because I believe that this film is very important. 10/10
Dying to Know is a documentary about the life and times of Dr. Timothy Leary, who was a masterful social commentator and a brilliant mind. It is a well-made documentary, and it will keep you thinking about Dr. Leary's life and the influence he had on society. Leary is a brilliant mind and a gifted speaker. He had many years of success in his career, but the only downfall of his life was his drug use. I found this documentary to be an interesting look at Leary's life and the influence he had on America. It is also interesting to see how he changed through his years of fame. You will see him as a man who became more and more radicalized, and his ideas were not always what you would think. It is also interesting to see how Leary's ideas spread to all of America. It is interesting to see the influence his ideas had on society, and his legacy will live on through his son, who was named after him. This is a great documentary and one that I recommend to anyone.
As a lifelong drug addict, this documentary made me re-evaluate my beliefs. It gave me a new perspective of what it means to be an addict, and how it affects your life. It made me question my own life, and I'm glad it was made. I have watched this movie many times and have been amazed by the amazing things that have been told. When I see a movie, I look for deeper meanings and metaphors. This movie had those in spades. If you are not an addict, you will probably not understand the depth of the message. However, if you are an addict, this film is a must see.
Just watched this documentary in the theater. It really is one of the most powerful and informative pieces of documentary I have ever seen. It is also the most controversial. I think it is a shame that this film has not received the same accolades as say, "The Life of David Gale" or "The Emperor's New Clothes". Ram Dass was a strange, yet fascinating character. This documentary shows the importance of the role of the drug experience in our lives. Timothy Leary is a fascinating character. He is a controversial figure, but the film shows the depth of his thoughts and ideas. I found it very disturbing to see him as a drug addict. I feel that the film did a great job of presenting the idea that all drugs are bad. The documentary shows that it is not only drugs, but all drugs. It is about the effects of drugs and how they affect the users. I think it is a great film. It is a great way to learn about drugs. It is a great documentary and it is a must see for anyone who is interested in the drug issue.
If you've never seen a documentary, you are missing out on something very valuable. You are missing out on the truth, the heart and soul of what it's like to be a student, a teacher, a student, a teacher, and a person. This movie was very insightful and very well-made. I wish the director had produced more movies, because I think he is a great director. He has a talent that is very rare. If he ever does another movie, I hope he can do a documentary about the life of Timothy Leary. I have never seen such an insightful and intelligent documentary about a person that I would not want to see. It was very well-made, and it was well-written. I thought it was very moving and very well-made.
This documentary is a must see for anyone who has ever thought that there is something to be learned from the life of Ram Dass. The movie begins with the question of "What is love?" and then proceeds to the ultimate question of "What is life?" This documentary is full of great insights into the life of Ram Dass and Timothy Leary. In my opinion, this is one of the most fascinating documentaries that I have ever seen. I hope you enjoy the documentary as much as I did.
This is a great documentary on the life of Ram Dass, the leader of the Berkeley Free Speech Movement. The documentary is divided into 3 parts, one with him, one with his followers and the third with the police. The film covers his life from the time he was a young man to the time he died. I think the film is a bit confusing at times because there is a lot of talk about his life and some of his followers that don't really seem to be in his circle. Also, the film doesn't really talk about the police. The documentary covers his life and his followers, but not the police. The police were involved in several incidents that I don't really care about, but I could see that they were involved in the riots at Berkeley and some of the deaths that happened. This documentary is very interesting and interesting. The documentary is definitely worth seeing. If you like documentaries, you should definitely check this one out.
It's been a long time since I've watched a documentary on the subject of LSD, and this is definitely one of the better ones. The story is told from the perspective of a former LSD-user, David Groban, who has been working with the drug for years. The film goes into a lot of detail on the history of LSD and how it was used by a select group of people, and how it got to where it is today. It also goes into the early history of LSD, the experiments that were done on it, and the people who were involved with it, and how it changed people's lives. There's a lot of background information, but it's not overly long. It's not meant to be a lecture, but it's also not meant to be an inspirational film. It's a very straightforward documentary that can be enjoyed by those who are interested in the subject of the drug. The acting is good, but I would've preferred it if the film had more of a documentary feel to it. It's not a documentary that will make you want to go out and read about LSD, but it's not a bad film either. It's not an action packed film, but it's not boring either. The documentary feel is definitely there, and the film has a very concise, but effective story to tell. If you're looking for something more on the subject of LSD, then you might want to check out this documentary. 7/10
I would like to start by saying that I really enjoyed this documentary. It was very informative, and it provided a lot of insight into the life of Timothy Leary. However, I think the documentary lacked a bit of a narrative. There was very little narration of the interviews, and the documentary seemed to be a collection of clips from different events, and not a complete narrative of the entire documentary. The first half of the documentary seemed to be about the documentary itself, the second half was about the interviews. I think this would have been a better documentary if it had been a bit more in-depth, with a bit more narration. But, I think that the documentary was excellent, and the interviews were very well done. I highly recommend this documentary to anyone interested in the life of Timothy Leary. I would rate this documentary 7 out of 10 stars. I think that it is well worth watching.
Ram Dass (aka The Talking Buddha) is an American philosopher, activist, and writer who is best known for his role as the head of the drug-addled hippie movement in the 1960's. I have been a fan of his work ever since I first heard about his life and his influence on so many. His early writings, and especially his famous "Wisdom and its Discontents" are a delight to read and contemplate. He is often compared to Martin Luther King, Jr. because of their similar views on the world, and the influence they both had on their respective generations. It is hard to say that this film does not do justice to Dass. While it is not his greatest work, it does show that his life was one of intense struggle and great spiritual insight. It is not a film that is easy to watch and digest, but it is an insightful look at the man who was a very important part of the 1960's counter-culture movement. While it is not the most important documentary about Dass, it is certainly worth a look.
This is a very interesting documentary that explains how Timothy Leary got his start in the psychedelic culture and how he became involved with the counter culture movement in the 60s and 70s. There are many people who have taken LSD and have talked about it. Timothy Leary and his wife Sharon became the first people to buy the drug on the open market. It was also at this time that the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) started their crackdown on drugs. The documentary covers how the DEA was heavily involved in drug busts and the fact that Timothy Leary was arrested for possession of LSD. The documentary also covers how the counter culture movement was started in the 60s. Timothy Leary is interviewed and talks about how his ideas were based on the counter culture and how he was a part of that movement. He also talks about the people he met and how they influenced his ideas. There is also footage of Timothy Leary in his home where he talks about the counter culture movement. This documentary was very well done and was informative and entertaining. This documentary is not a documentary about Timothy Leary. It is a documentary about the counter culture movement. It was very interesting and well done. This documentary is worth seeing and it is definitely a must see for anyone who is interested in Timothy Leary and the counter culture movement.
