I'll admit that I've not read the book before watching this film, and I went in with very low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. I was also struck by how much the film was affected by its source material. The atmosphere of the book was in my opinion, a perfect fit for the style of the film. It gave the film a more dark, brooding feel, and the main character, Natasha, was perfectly cast. I also think that Natalie Portman was an excellent choice to play Natasha, she is so good at acting when it comes to playing characters who have a lot of mystery. Her character is very well developed. I also really like how this film didn't fall into the trap of the modern Hollywood "I can't think of anything to say anymore, so I'm gonna let everyone talk about it and we'll come up with this ending, so there." It did have its ups and downs, but they were well-done and were generally appreciated. I also think that people are overrating the acting in this film. I thought the acting was really good, but in my opinion, the performance by Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor was pretty good. I think the latter was actually the best of the three in the film, as his voice was perfect for his character, and he had a very memorable and truly great performance. I think everyone who loves a good mystery will really enjoy this film. I loved it.

A rare gem, I can watch this movie over and over again. As a big fan of Patti Lupone I can say that she did a very good job portraying the role of Judy Blume. I'm so glad I stumbled on this film on a Monday evening. Patti is a very talented actress and a fantastic actress and she proved it again. I don't think I can ever forget the performance of "We'll Always Have Paris" in the cinema when I saw this film. It was one of the best scenes in the film and everyone around me gasped in awe. To conclude, this film deserves more attention and it is a must see for every Patti Lupone fan. 9.5 out of 10

The brutality, the brutality of the men, the cruelty of the food, the strong personalities of all the characters, the despair and the heroism. It is a very interesting movie, very thought-provoking, very well written and very well directed. The only bad thing about the movie is that it ends very abruptly. It is a movie worth seeing.
