I've seen this movie twice and loved it both times. It's a love story between two sisters who both have to leave their family in order to move away to find a better life. And they find each other. I think it's a very moving film. The only thing I didn't like about it was the movie was a little too long and the characters didn't get enough screen time. I think the acting was great though. The story was great and the cast did a great job. I thought that it was really funny and I really liked the movie. I really recommend it. 8/10

I can't wait to see the director's cut of this film. It's really worth seeing. It's a really great movie.

And although this is a story based on an imaginary character, the actors do a fantastic job at making it their own. Their portrayal of the roles are very well done. They give an impression of what prison life is really like. Hackman as Gene was perfect as the protagonist who becomes acquainted with a prisoner's life. They portray a nice father and brother figure. They also portray two faces of justice. He sees his conscience and that of the other guards, and the other see's him as an innocent man. It's a very funny and entertaining movie. It's funny because the main characters come across as weird and funny, and it's a movie that everyone can relate to. If you like films about everyday problems, then you'll enjoy this one.

An excellent film, a modern retelling of a classic story. The film is not perfect, but it is a remarkable achievement. I can't remember the last time I saw such a good movie. I'm not sure why it didn't do well at the box office. Perhaps the lack of English language in the theaters caused some problems. I hope this is not a major problem. I recommend this film to anyone who likes a good story, and also to anyone who likes a good movie. It is a good, great movie.

An ensemble cast that spans three generations of British comedians, Kate Blanchett, Lenny Henry, Adrian Dunbar, John Cleese, Simon Amstell and others are all crammed into the large, well lit and grand interiors of the piazza during the European premiere of the TV series. They're all here for the Piazza Night event that celebrates the festival that is the Piazza Night and how it is celebrated, not by any ethnic group, but by all people and all ages. Everything is happening on this night. There are live gigs, comedy sketches, music, dance and of course, the local delicacies. Some of the group-members are asked to play the lines. Some of the players are of the British comedy class, while some are of the Italian comedy class, which includes legends like Fabio Testi and Luciano Mezzogiorno. This is the last hurrah for the European Championship of Piazza Night and it's also the last hurrah for Adrian Dunbar and Simon Amstell who co-wrote the screenplay with the players for the night. The cast, many of them veterans of the UK's TV industry, put their everything into this one-off night and it shows. Blanchett is gorgeous, to the point of being the most luscious person on the planet. She's gorgeous in every film and TV movie she's in, and here she's magnificent. It's a shame that she isn't more recognized. Her chemistry with Lenny Henry is real, genuine and amazing. As is the chemistry between Amstell and Kate Blanchett, who both give impassioned, compelling and just plain amazing performances. Both of these actors are phenomenal and they're both great comic actors. Of course, it's the three of them together that make this film so special. All the other comedic actors, from Phil Harris and Alan Davies to Michael Palin and Kate Thirlby, all have some great moments as well, especially Alan Davies, who is hilarious and also funny. Amstell is just wonderful as the surly veteran who wants to play against the legendary Cleese and who gives a brilliant comic performance in an all too brief appearance. Dunbar and Amstell also are good at playing characters who are trying to be funny but are still being sarcastic, as well as funny. Cleese and Amstell are just great and they make the best of the limited time they have on screen together. This film is also a celebration of the piazza, and as I said, the comedy that is coming out of it is fantastic. It's a time for celebration, laughter, energy and celebration. Not a time to be taken seriously and not a time for true sophistication. This is the piazza of the future. The Piazza Night is back and it's great to be a part of. It's my favorite festival night in the UK, but it's more than just a festival night. The Piazza Night is a celebration of life, culture, the joy and the struggle of the city and it's hard to not enjoy the many, many others who are part of it. I'm a huge fan of the festival, and I know this film is a celebration of the piazza. It's also a celebration of the Festival of the British Comedy, and it's a celebration of every festival night that ever happened, and in some cases more. This is one of my favorite comedies and the film is packed with moments that are very memorable. There are many funny and memorable moments. This is a film that will be remembered for a long, long time. This film is one of the best comedies of recent years. 8.5/10 stars

All the people I know have watched this movie before they came home from work. The problem is that it's not a hard movie to sit through, it's more of a "cute" movie with a lot of laugh out loud moments. I loved it, because it's a cute movie about a very cute girl in a very cute situation, so, I recommend it to anyone that is looking for a sweet and simple family film to watch on the weekend, because it is well worth it. The movie does have a few moments that will make you cringe, but other than that, it's just a cute movie to watch on a Saturday night.

It is one of those movies where you are watching it and then you want to know what is going to happen next. The acting is decent and the direction is good. The only problem with the movie is that the movie takes too long to get going. It is really slow in parts. I felt like I was waiting for the story to catch up with the characters and start getting going again. I found myself not really caring who lived or died. This is why I like the film so much, but I'm sure I'll be getting sick of it. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants a good drama.

There were a few "hows" and "whys" in this movie. I was surprised to see how a child could react when he was playing in a pothole. My two young boys are 7 and 9 years old. They loved the film, and would definitely watch it again. The film makers showed us that you don't need a big budget to make a good film. My only criticism is that the music was not up to par with the film. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone. If you are in the mood for a good film, I would definitely recommend Lucy.

Having been a fan of 'Coming Home' for a number of years, I was excited to finally see the film. Although I'm not a fan of Woody Allen, I must say he did a great job. I was impressed by his realistic, intelligent, and emotional direction. I thought the casting was superb. George Clooney and Martin Freeman were fantastic in their roles as Carl and Joanne. Their performances were spot on. Jennifer Lawrence was good in her role as Lucy. My only major complaint is that the film seems to drag. At certain points, I was waiting for it to get better. Also, the title song was horrible. The song was so bad, it could have easily been cut. I enjoyed the film, and would highly recommend it. I think 'Finding Neverland' was a better film and that is no surprise considering this was directed by the same man.

I thought that the story could have been more fleshed out, especially the middle and ending, but that's not really what I was looking for. This is definitely a movie that you can watch and have a good time. The directing, music, and performances are all good, and I think that we can learn from this film as well. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an open mind and enjoy comedy.

I am a big fan of both Helen Hunt and the rest of the cast. She was perfect as the much-maligned, but brilliant Lucy. The other actors were also wonderful, especially the young actor playing the younger brother. I was also happy that the movie had a happy ending. It was a nice touch. I think it would have been better if it had a happy ending. But that's just me. Overall, a good movie.

The film follows as a news team goes on the trail of a serial killer who mutilates his victims. One of the team is a reporter named Lucy (Michelle Williams) who is introduced to the story by her husband, Ken (Eddie Redmayne) who is a critic for the New York Times. The story comes as a surprise to her husband when he discovers the man she has been assigned to cover is actually a killer who takes pleasure in dismembering his victims. The following day, Lucy is confronted by a man who says he is a friend of the killer and asks Lucy to get on the case. He takes her to an abandoned New York City apartment and she and her colleagues are informed of the killer's secret. After a dramatic and unpredictable opening, the film takes on a more realistic tone as it works its way to reveal the killer's motives, including a romantic connection between him and Lucy. With the killer's confession, the film then becomes a detective story. We learn that the killer is a psychopath and that he likes to show his victims their dead bodies. We also learn the killer is a former student of the writer. This is where the film slows down a bit as it develops the characters. The film eventually works its way back into a more real world tone. As the credits roll, we see a police officer's wife leaving the movie, which ends up being the most dramatic scene in the film. With this ending, the film becomes a more serious crime film with a real sense of tragedy and a sense of reality. I was also impressed with the performances by the leads. Williams was a revelation and Redmayne was very good, but Williams and Redmayne were the best of the actors. I also thought Williams's performance was great and I think she deserved the Oscar nomination. Eddie Redmayne was also very good and his character was very well developed. I would recommend this film to those who like crime and thriller films, but I would say it's a lot better than the average film.

I read the reviews and had the same feeling as the film. I was watching the movie and I realized I had to stop. It was so horrible, the ending was just so bad, the whole movie. I mean, the actors were good. It was a movie to watch with friends, but I don't think it's a movie you want to see alone. It was too depressing. I think it was a great idea to make a movie about a man who lost his girlfriend, but then when she died, he started to go crazy. But I don't think he was crazy at all. I mean, it was a movie, so it should be interesting. And it was, but it wasn't. I can't believe people are giving this a 10, or even a 9. It was a very bad movie, but it was a good movie.

I saw this film at a film festival. I was really impressed with the way the film had the chance to be playful. There were many ways in which the film didn't look like it was trying to be serious. That is because the film wasn't trying to be serious. The filmmakers clearly wanted to make fun of the way the world is and I think that was the point. However, I don't think the film will appeal to everyone because it does make fun of things that people like. I don't think I've ever seen anything so seriously negative a review could be, so just in case the whole 'What was the point of this movie?' thing offends you, and because this film is literally a joke I'll mention that I feel a little bad for them and their pains. I'm not going to lie, I felt the same way when I saw THE PIANIST in a theater. This is what happens when a creative director's vision is completely hijacked. The artists spend their lives imagining and crafting pictures, and then someone else copies them in a way that isn't as beautiful or realistic as they imagined, and then people pay to watch it. And I don't mean it as a joke. It is a real story, with real characters, and a real script, and real actors. That is why I gave it an '8' instead of a '10'. This movie is just an exercise in creative destruction. And like an artist, this is something that I'm glad to have no power over. For all of you who love film, and get really hyped up for the premiere of a film, you know how some films blow out of the water the day they're released, some films have no reviews, no fan clubs, no DVD sales, and the most popular film of the year is a young girl's page? Come on. It's the same thing with this film, but with a lot more heart and soul. This film takes the form of a diary, a diary in which the main character, Lucy (Linda Fiorentino), is recording her life to start her junior year of high school. Through her diary, Lucy meets a wide array of characters in high school, and some of them, even though we see her as a complete ditz, we can actually feel some sort of affection for. (In my case, I felt sorry for Mary, who is the redheaded girl, who sleeps with the boy who is about to propose to her. It is such a cute and sweet little thing, like the animation in THE TALES OF RICHARD MESSNER. Every frame of this film is filled with pure sentimentality, with some scenes, like the sex scene, not so subtly illustrating the theme of unrequited love, and there are a lot of really good scenes. But it's what we don't see that makes this movie so special. The characters are very real, they aren't just cardboard cutouts. We know that Lucy is struggling to be a "normal" teenager, and what happens in her life is based on some sort of equation that we can actually see her solve. But in her head, it's just not like that. And when you see that happen in a film, that means something is happening, something that isn't just a movie. I'm not saying that we shouldn't watch this film, it's a wonderful, wonderfully crafted film, and I'm sure I'll watch it again, but I don't think I'll be watching it again, or giving it the time of day. And I don't think it's good for the film to be so self-critical, so that the people who love this film have to put it on their radar for someone else to watch, and they'll see all the faults and misses in the film, and just have to "take it personally." I'm not judging the film. It's not a perfect film, but it's beautiful in its own way. This film has to be seen, to be believed. But it's also amazing how strong a statement it makes. It's a good thing that it's out there. And I'm sure that everyone will love this film, and it will be one of the most creative films of the year. And for those of you who love great film and want to know what that's like, and see what a talented director can do with a simple idea, and the talent of some of the best and most talented actors in the business, check it out. I think that anyone, even a newbie, will enjoy it. But it's not for everyone.

This is what happens when you take the best parts of a movie and mix them with the worst parts. I suppose it was all from the writers perspective. To be honest it was pretty much okay. But the other 2 stories were so overblown that it just hurt the movie. The girl who is the dumb jock and the girl who is the dark-skinned junkie were so overblown that I wanted to walk out of the movie and tell my friends that this is what they were making. It had the worst fight scene I have ever seen. And the ending was horrible. It was something from a "Rocky" movie. It just went on and on and on. So what did I have left? The best parts. The waitress. The Chinese and Indian people. And the ending. Oh the ending. It was like there was no ending. It was like a happy ending to the movie. It was so out of place that it was painful to watch. I love all of the movie but it wasn't good. I wish I hadn't watched it. And I would love to see the movie before the DVD comes out but it would be silly of me to pay for it. I give it a 7. Well worth the price of admission.

As I am one of the women who have posted comments on this film here on IMDb, I feel I have a duty to tell others that if you are not a lesbian, or if you don't like or even like lesbian movies, don't watch it. It's not your typical film, it's not your typical gay movie. The plot is a straight woman's childhood story turned up a bit too far in to the far far side of a one liners-to the point where I wanted to slap the viewer in the face. The characters, although well-drawn and generally likable, are never convincing and this should really come as no surprise given the content of the story. The movie just comes across as amateurish and overacted, with a lazy script and so many jokes that you just sit there and laugh, rather than feel you have the right to laugh at something that is so poor and obnoxious. Even the supporting characters just plain suck and not at all likable, with some characters you just simply can't see where they are going. All in all, the film isn't a complete waste of time, but it is far from a good movie.

The acting is good, the directing is good, the story is good, the music is good, and the actors are all very good. I really enjoyed this movie and I would definitely recommend it to people.

This is one of the funniest films I have seen since "Martha Marcy May Marlene" and "The Shawshank Redemption". This is a comedy film that is funny, that makes you laugh. The movie is very suspenseful. I have seen it many times and I still laugh.

Sam Rockwell is not only one of the most compelling actors working today, he is also one of the most original in this film. From his role as "The Dude" in the "Mad Men" series, to his recent role in "Boyhood", Sam is able to create a unique persona, and give it a very unique energy. Like many actors of his generation, he plays many different characters, but he keeps the same essence that he uses in all his roles. It's amazing to see that his character in this film is very original, and in many ways, more interesting than the main character of the film. He plays a man who has lost his wife to cancer. He is trying to deal with his life, but his wife has left him. He is very difficult to get to know, and you start to understand the problem he has. Throughout the film, we are treated to his usual arsenal of quick wit and acting ability. At times, the acting itself is somewhat repetitive. But you have to realize that this is not the purpose of the film, because you are not actually watching Sam Rockwell's performance, but rather the performance of the actor who plays the main character. By doing this, we are able to watch Sam Rockwell and understand the depth of his acting ability. Once you understand this, the performances become much more noticeable and engaging. And I love that his character is so much more interesting than the main character. There are a few minor characters in the film that do not seem to matter much to the main story, and I could have used a few more of them, but other than that, this is a very different kind of movie, and the performances help this along. When you realize that this is a film about a man trying to cope with his problems, it makes the film a lot more realistic. The characters are complex and interesting, and the story is very much original. I could not stop thinking about Sam Rockwell's performance. He is brilliant. He does a lot of acting that I have never seen in any other film. Sam Rockwell's performances are exceptional. This is the kind of film that you want to watch more than once. There are a few scenes that I will watch again. I won't say anymore because it would not be fair to do so. You should see this film.

This is a movie about a woman who's needs and wishes don't have a place for her in the world. She wants to move on but keeps getting rejected because she has to live her life in a small house she built in the woods. She's so sad but makes the best of it. After coming to an agreement with her neighbors to go to the festival she was invited to, she is overwhelmed and happy that she gets to feel like a real person again. She learns that the next day she had been rejected by her boyfriend but she still goes to the festival because she wants to make him happy. The next day she still shows up at the festival and this time the boyfriend she had been making so sad and sad. Her sister, the sister's friend, and the boyfriends sister, don't know about her need and wish that she don't have to live in the house, the real home. She has been ignoring that until now. The director made this movie with her life, her needs, her wish and the happiness she gets from that. She put the real stuff she needs into the movie and the problem she has in the real life to fill the movie with. She didn't ask for a movie to look like a reality or a fairy tale. This is a movie that tells a story about her life.

A film based on an idea, so doesn't have a lot of studio backing, that was actually made in England. Some of the humour is lost, but there's enough charm to carry it through. Some of the characters are characters, not stereotypes. This is a good romantic comedy that may well be destined to find its way to DVD. It's funny and engaging enough, and it may not be as highly regarded as it should be, but it's not a bad film.

I have just seen this movie in its full length (2 hours) and I must say that it was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. But Lucy is not alone, there is a very smart girl, a gay boy, a father who is in love with Lucy, a mother who is trying to give her daughter the best life possible, a grandfather who is so proud of his daughter, and a father who wants to take care of her. But, this is not the best life for Lucy. She has a lot of problems. And she tries to make a decision that will change her life. The film is very well-made and the acting is superb. One of the few things that I can say about this movie is that it is probably the most stylishly directed movie I have ever seen. I'm not saying that I want to see it, but I think I'll have to, because I was blown away by the fact that they did it in such a fashion that it doesn't feel like you're watching the movie. It was made by a director that obviously knows what he's doing, and I think he was successful in making the whole thing look pretty good. The story is about a man named Fred (Jonah Hill) who is a drug dealer who meets a woman named Lucy (Maggie Gyllenhaal) who was a victim of a murder and the other guy she was in love with who also killed her. After spending some time with her and discovering that she is in fact his girlfriend, Fred begins to take interest in Lucy and their relationship starts to grow. However, one day when Fred is leaving Lucy, Lucy stops him and asks him what he is doing, and Fred explains that he has been thinking about her and has been thinking about her since they were teenagers. Fred explains that he thinks that she is the one and he doesn't want to be friends with her, but she still gives him some time to think about her and she asks him to call her in a few days. However, Fred doesn't want to leave and he decides to call her. It seems like he is doing the right thing for a while and he ends up thinking that she is the one. This leads to the end of the movie, but I won't spoil it for you. The only thing I have to say about this movie is that it is directed so beautifully that I can't really say anything else. The colors, the music, the cinematography, everything is just perfect and it just seems to make the movie feel so realistic. In a way it does remind me of another movie that was made a while ago, "Adaptation", in that there is a kind of "Memento" feeling that is conveyed with the colors, music and cinematography. However, I think this movie has a lot more depth to it than that. The story is pretty simple and it doesn't seem like it has a point, but the way that it is told is just brilliant. I really hope that they make a sequel and I hope that it has a deeper message than the first movie. It's still a pretty good movie and I can't wait for it to be released on DVD, because I would buy it just to watch it again.

I liked this film but don't think it's for everyone. Having just seen it I can see that many will not be able to sit through the whole thing. I, as well as many others, have to admit that there are parts that are kinda weak and maybe could have been done better. In particular I felt that one of the main characters, Sam, was sort of stereotypical. Now that I've said that I've also to admit that I can't really put my finger on why but it just seemed like the character was about the same. Some scenes were kind of cool but not really something I'd like to go back and see again. What I can say for sure is that this film is more a 'feel good' movie than anything else. It's very well written, is surprisingly funny, and shows the characters well. I thought that the overall effect was well done. If you want to see a more serious movie, I would recommend 'The Hangover'. I have to admit that I am biased towards 'The Hangover' because I love it and love the main characters in it. As a young woman in her mid-20's I've been to a few bachelorette parties and I've been to a few places that could best be described as "gay clubs" (i.e. "The Moon") and I've been to a lot of those places. And I still can't say I've ever walked out of one of them. My only gripe with this film is that it seemed to me that it was "made" for this particular generation of young people and their generation. As a gay man, I'm still adjusting to the fact that people might be getting offended by a gay couple walking around the city. I know some people think I'm too sensitive. But really, it's not the place to show your face. I would have liked to have seen more of the boys in drag and the relationship between them and the boys in drag. I think a lot of people will have their own opinions about the ending, but I don't know why I kept waiting for something to happen to make me mad. This film was just about the time when I began to see myself as a young gay woman, and this film was a really good portrayal of that experience. The actors were wonderful, and there was a real warmth to the film. I thought that the storyline was simple and straight forward but, it was still clever and witty. All in all, I recommend this film to anyone who wants a good laugh and a great story about a real life phenomenon.

After a slow start I got my head around the story pretty quickly. But I just didn't know what to make of it. The two main characters, Lucy and Mark, had some really interesting chemistry. I've never seen these two actors in a movie before, but I found them very convincing. I didn't really care much for the character of Gus, played by Jane Lynch. It was a bit weird and it was hard to understand him at times. The acting was good overall, but I think it could have been better. The plot was not very engaging, but I don't think that was the point. The point was that these two guys (Mark and Lucy) had a lot of bad things happen to them. They both had to go through this horrible ordeal to get their lives back. The characters were interesting and I really liked them. It would have been nice if we could have gotten more insight into the characters. But I really enjoyed the movie. I was laughing out loud at certain parts of the movie. I enjoyed it.
