I loved this movie because it was not completely a documentary, but the stories were true, and not the usual Hollywood type stories. If you enjoy the same kinds of stories I did, or you just like to have a good story told, this is a great film. If you're looking for a movie that will be a great help for you to get to know more about the history of the U.S.A., I'd say this is not the best movie you can go and rent. However, if you like to have a good story told, this is one of the best documentaries I've seen in a long time. I'd also recommend this movie to all people who are interested in this kind of history.

To all of the 'dissenters' I will say this: I have been involved in a number of conflicts myself, I have seen the movie, I have met many of the people who work on it, I have spoken to many of the people who were involved, and have seen the movie. What you have not seen is the 'interview' that the movie was filmed, and what you have seen is the 'thesis' the movie was produced to give. No one here has ever said that the movie is incorrect, it is simply that they have not seen the movie. I am a liberal, I am a feminist, and I am a liberal-leaning right-winger. I am also a humanist and have always been very critical of this country and its culture, but this movie was never intended to have a liberal message and I think it will be widely recognized as such. I can only assume that anyone who did not like the movie because they did not like the people portrayed in it, is not someone who can appreciate the importance of the message. If you do not like the movie because you did not like the people portrayed, then I can only guess that you have not understood what the movie was really about. I will say this much, it is a very honest movie and the person who wrote the comments on the IMDb website were not doing this to judge this movie but to see if they were like the other reviewers. If you have not seen this movie, then I think you will enjoy it, and I can only hope that you will do so, because the movie is good and has a very good message. I do not wish to bash this movie, but I will say this: If you want to see a movie that shows the message of love and the importance of learning to value others and to realize that we are all individuals with our own lives and problems to face, then see this movie, it will be a great experience and will not disappoint you.

I was lucky enough to see this movie in '71 and I was blown away by it. The director's long film of the actual '66 and '66 footage was as close to the actual time as you can get. It was made in the very dark room of the Watts Theater and the lighting was perfect. It was just awesome. Even the stage was real dark. It was beautiful. That was the reason I wanted to see the movie in the first place, and I'm glad I did. It was like a dream come true, especially since I was born the year of the movie's release. It made me realize the power of the time and that I, too, was there. That power is what brought the movie to me. I really hope people like the movie because it was extremely uplifting and very inspirational. It's got everything you want in a movie and more. The directors have done a great job and I hope they get a chance to make more films in the future.

I am not saying that the people were treated in an unprofessional manner, but if they were tortured that way, why didn't they just tell the police about it? I don't think that it was the fault of the girl herself, but it was the fault of the people that they were under torture. If the people had been treated in a proper manner, I am sure that the girls would have gone to school and have been fine. I am sorry that I cannot be nice to the people who made this film, because I just cannot accept it. The film was really hard to watch, and I am ashamed to have watched it. But I will try to make an effort to see it again when I can.
