This is a great movie. I was not sure what to expect going in to it, but it exceeded my expectations. The plot is fairly unique. It is about a waitress (Amber Tamblyn) who is stuck in a foreign country and she has to make a decision about what to do with her life. She is torn between a bunch of different choices, but she does not have a choice in which direction to go. There are also a few subplots involving the foreign countries she is working in. The only other character who is interesting is the boss who has no reason to be there and the women who are friends of the boss. There are a lot of things that are great about this movie. The acting is fantastic, the soundtrack is great, the locations are amazing, and the story is very interesting. I really like this movie and would highly recommend it.
This movie was a wonderful discovery for me. I am a fan of Julie Bortnick, and have become a huge fan of hers. I love her current TV series "Nip/Tuck", and I love her movies. She is on her way to a very big screen in the near future. She is very well rounded and has a great heart, as seen in this movie. I have never been a big fan of "American Idol" and thought it was an interesting and useless program, until I watched "Lucky." I watched it a second time, and it was a terrific thing. I have heard people say that they don't really want to hear what the "stars" have to say, but then I think it is a form of entertainment and they may like it more than you, if you listen to the facts. When I saw that this movie was coming out, I thought that it would be an interesting film for me to see, and I was pleasantly surprised. The story was so great, I was feeling like it was my life. This movie, "The Beaver", is a movie that is definitely worth seeing. I give this movie a 10 out of 10.
I just caught this movie on Bravo yesterday. I loved the movie. I loved the screenplay, the casting, and the characters. I'm really looking forward to seeing the third one! It was really funny and serious at the same time. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes romantic comedies. Definitely a movie you'll want to watch again and again. It's just wonderful.
I went to this movie with the feeling that I am going to love it. I felt the same when I watched the movie "Virunga" (1987), which is the movie which I also love. My point is that I am not at all disappointed in the movie "A Chef, A Chef, A Chef", but I am very satisfied with the movie "A Chef, A Chef, A Chef". It is a movie that I am very happy to have seen and I really recommend it to you. I also recommend it to the people who have not seen the movie "Virunga".
I've been a fan of Galifianakis since the time I first saw him in "Best in Show." I've also seen him in a wide variety of other great films and TV shows, but I've never seen him in anything that was so emotionally and mentally taxing. This film is truly the pinnacle of his talents. When I first saw the film, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I ended up watching it again and was absolutely shocked. The story is really deep, with a lot of twists and turns. The acting is terrific. I especially like the performances of Zach Galifianakis, and Demetri Martin. They're two of my favorite actors, and they did a phenomenal job. I really recommend this film to anyone. The ending of the film is very emotional, and I can't wait for the next film in the series.
I first saw this movie when I was about 9 years old and have always loved it, but didn't have the chance to see it until I recently had the opportunity to see it on Netflix. I have to say that it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. This movie has everything a good movie should have, great acting, a great story, great action, great directing, and of course, great music. There is a point where the music is so good that I have to pause and just listen to it. If you are a music lover then I would recommend listening to the soundtrack. It has everything that a movie needs. I have seen a lot of movies, but not like this one. This is definitely one of my top movies of all time. It's definitely worth seeing.
This is an enjoyable film. The main problem is that the film is too long. It is supposed to be a one hour movie, but it is almost two and a half hours. The film could have been much shorter. And the ending is quite hard to swallow. It is supposed to be about the war in Angola and the war in the Congo. It is a good film, but a very long film. If it had been longer it would have been a good film.
I saw this film as part of the Sundance Festival in January 2006. I've been a fan of Margaret Atwood's books for years, and I was very glad to find a film version. There was a small controversy among the screening audience as to the legality of violence in the film. A representative of a pro-abortion group stood up during the Q&A session to shout out, "Violence doesn't solve anything!" The point of the film is that violence solves nothing. The point of the film is that people need to try harder. I think that Margaret Atwood's book is very important in explaining the problems of violence. The differences between the novel and the film are minor, but the point of the novel is that it is the greatest force in human history. The movie is great in describing the different stages of life. It teaches you how a person's future will be based on his past actions. The characters were very well done. The characters were like real people. The film also has several great music themes, including the famous song "Crazy Love" by Rod Stewart.
Breathtakingly beautiful cinematography. Never seen anything like it. Probably the best film I've ever seen. Not because of the action or the acting. It is about the entire family. I was really impressed by the characters. What a wonderful story. What a treat.
The most surreal story ever told in a movie, this film is a great addition to the more obvious and less successful concept of surrealism, as it is a very beautiful, powerful, and hypnotic piece of art. In the story, when the young woman is lying in bed, staring out the window and listening to the radio, she begins to think about a world that is a bit more serious than the one she knows. At first, this thought seems like a dream, but in a few days, she begins to notice that the world is real and there are people like herself, who are always waiting for the right moment to jump on the train and take a ride with the famous Frank. A more literal interpretation of the film would be a story of two people who meet at a train station and the younger one asks the older one if he has a girlfriend, but she responds by telling him that there are no girls on this train. If you think about it, that is a pretty accurate description of what is happening to this film, and a good thing, because it has been too long since I have seen a film that doesn't come across as having a plot and has something of a plot in the end. The last scene of the film is a perfect description of the entire film. If you don't understand a single thing, the film is more than worth it.
This movie is funny, touching and is for the most part about the life of one man, Juan Carlos. I loved the movie. The problem is that I don't know how to say the truth about Juan Carlos. All I can say is that he was a real person, who had to face and deal with a lot of life issues. The movie is about a man who has to face his problems. He is trying to be a good person and not to be a murderer. He has to face his own demons. And he is trying to do this with the help of his wife, his best friend and his young son. The performances in this movie were great. The actors, especially Cecilia Suarez, are very believable. I think that this movie is a great addition to the work of Manuel Garcia Lorca, who made so many movies with different cast. I think that he did not have to make a lot of money and yet, he did it. He is a true artist. All I can say is that he did a wonderful job. I recommend this movie to anyone who wants to watch a movie that is very entertaining, funny and has a good message.
One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Please go see this movie!
Songs, mysteries and love of a whole new dimension. Cast: Shyam Benegal, Sridevi, Nagesh Babbar, Vikram Tandon, Parvathi Balakrishnan, Narsimha Balakrishnan, Damini Gopi. Direction: Meenakshi Chudakar. Music: Syed Rizwan Qureshi, Boman Irani, Gulzar Ali. Acting: Shyam Benegal, Sridevi, Nagesh Babbar, Parvathi Balakrishnan, Vikram Tandon, Damini Gopi. For a great movie, go for the version directed by Shyam Benegal, the one with Shyam Benegal. Best Film of this year.
There are few films that I have watched that have a lasting impression on me and that is exactly what this film has. I was left completely speechless. It is so amazing to see a film made from a child's point of view. It is the only film that I have ever seen where I really felt like I was a child again. When the film ends, I feel I have learned something and then I start to talk to my friends about it. When I heard that this film was going to be shown in Chicago, I was excited because I knew it was going to be something special. My friend's parents are former theater directors and they had asked me to go with them because they had never seen a film from a child's point of view before. I am not a child, but I am very knowledgeable about films and this is the first film that has ever touched me. The performances in this film are so incredible. The actors have done a fantastic job. The actors don't use very much dialogue, but the performance they put into their characters is so incredible. One of the best scenes in this film is when Arsenio shows up at the hotel and puts his hat on and everyone in the hotel goes wild. He was like a demon from hell. The acting in this film is so wonderful. I can't wait to see the film again. I am going to be there to see it again.
I saw the preview for this movie at the art house film festival in Phoenix. I think this movie is a wonderful portrait of a young woman who is a "bad" person, but has a conscience that is not always well served by society. The director is not afraid to explore the world of the "bad" woman, and of what it is like to be a woman who is "bad" in a society where she is expected to be a good wife and a good mother. A very strong performance by Agata Buzek. There is a strong contrast in how she is treated by men and how she treats women in the "good" neighborhood. I recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in the human condition, the meaning of life, or in the male-female relationship.
If you've never seen a Chechen movie, you have no excuse not to. This is a must see movie for anyone who likes a real movie. It's just pure genius.
It was a great and funny movie! You must watch it! Don't let the critics spoil it for you. It's better than the first one!
This is one of my favorite movies, and it is a MUST SEE! The script is wonderfully written, and as a Woody Allen fan, I love his voice-over style. It is funny and dramatic. This is a great movie! The characters are wonderful and the writing is great! The actors are wonderful too. They all bring so much depth to their characters. Even Sarah Jessica Parker who plays the rich brat, gives the impression of a lady. Her character is so tender and loving, and she is so amazing at it! I love how she is a little spoiled. It makes me laugh! The ending was one of my favorite scenes. I will never forget it. I love this movie and will never forget it!
I saw this film at a premier in NYC. It was a well-reviewed film at the time and I was looking forward to seeing it. I was not disappointed. I thought the film was very well-done and well-acted. The plot was well-paced and the performances were well-done. The directing was good, the cinematography was good and the music was great. The film's only fault was that it was a little too long. But all in all, I really enjoyed this film. It was definitely a better than average film and I'd recommend it.
After hearing so much about this movie, I was ready for it. I had seen the trailer before seeing the movie. I was expecting a normal and dull movie. However, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. This movie is really quite good. The acting was good, the cinematography was excellent. I recommend it to anyone who wants to see a good movie. I also recommend it to people who don't like movies that are too serious, because it's really quite funny. And it's also really good for a date. Also, this movie is not for people who are offended by "drugs". You can watch it without it affecting your opinion of drugs. But, for those people, please try to stay away from drugs. It will ruin your life and ruin your time.
I had the pleasure of attending the premier of this film at the Tribeca Film Festival. I am a huge fan of Daniel Day-Lewis and have always been fascinated with his life. I love the many films that he has been in, but this is the first one that really caught my attention. It is such a thought provoking film that I believe that it will be in the Academy's consideration for an award. I can't wait to see it again! The performances were phenomenal. The performances of all the actors were amazing and I could not have been more proud of them. Day-Lewis was so believable as the depressed/lonely man. All his acting was absolutely amazing. There were many scenes that made me want to cry, and his movies always have a special meaning. Also, the directing and cinematography were just brilliant. Everyone in the theatre left with a smile on their face. This movie has everything you could want in a movie. Definitely an Oscar contender!
I'm in a mood for a nice little B-movie with a great cast and a good story. "Fool's Gold" definitely fulfills both of those requirements. The movie starts off with a quite cool bit of equipment, but it soon turns into a bit of a romp with a number of fun characters. The movie takes a turn when we meet (and learn some things about) "the heir to the throne" of Spain, Diego Rivera (Elias. There's a great line that you'll want to hear - "You see, this is a big, big, big family!"). The film then turns into a gritty, street-based movie with a number of some really good scenes, like when the gangsters steal some money from a local store and you see the thugs come up to the store owner and ask for the money. The scene that is the highlight of the movie is when two of the gangsters come up to an old friend of the gang, who tells them about the shop and that they had to flee after the police came. They then go to a motel and have a fight with the owner. The next day they're back at the diner and have a whole bunch of fun. But, Diego suddenly sees an old friend of his brother's come in the store and he has some bad news for him. They go to the police station and Diego has to explain the whole story to the police chief (who is going to be rather pissed at Diego). At the end of the day, Diego tells the police chief that he is going to kill the king of Spain. The police chief agrees with Diego and it's all downhill from there. The film is just a great way to get some laughs and get into a really good movie. I recommend it.
The film opens with a conversation between Beatriz (Dakota Fanning) and her friend Verna (Lea Thompson), each with their own gossip. Verna insists that Beatriz has a personality disorder, and when she finally does tell him, she tells him she thinks he has it. Soon afterwards, she tells him that she is not in love with him, and she is married to a rich man. The woman Beatriz claims to be is played by Edie Falco (Charlotte Rampling), the real-life wife of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of Queen, who committed suicide by jumping off the London Bridge. Freddie is also played by Gabriel Byrne, and they both appear together in a role-reversal of one of the bands, performing at the party for the good girl's wedding. Their pretend celebrity is a clever device, but it is also a source of frustration for Beatriz, and eventually her husband. This is, of course, in all the characterizations of the movie, and yet it does not matter, because it is all about the love story. The film begins with Beatriz eating in her own private kitchen, looking at her enormous salad and reading her book of recipes. It is a look at the relationship between the woman and her cooking, and it is a reflection of the film, because it is the food we eat that we eat, and that the movie is so fond of, and the food that Beatriz cooks is a constant subject. The housemaid (Linda Fiore) is on her way to do some chores, and Beatriz is always available, talking and playing games with her. Her kitchen is a work of art, and the kitchen she cooks is the work of a woman who is doing the work of a woman who has been very fortunate, with everything going for her, and who has learned so much from it. The movie shows this world through the eyes of Beatriz's mother, who looks at the pictures of the table and at the other rooms. The movie is not a romantic comedy, because it is not about what happens, it is what happens after, the journey we make with Beatriz, the images of the meal and the food. In the end, the point of the movie is not about what happened, but about what might happen, and the sadness and the joy of the moments that go before, and those that go after. The film is a call to action, for love is a gift that one can give, and that one can receive. The film also reminds us of the importance of marriage, and the importance of love. It is not always given, but it is present, and it is all we have. Beatriz is caught in a difficult relationship, and she is being hit by a truck, and she is used and abused. But love is always present, and love can be a gift, a gift to be given to the world, or a gift to be given to oneself. The movie is a gift, but it is also a call to action, and the message is clear: "Give it to me."
I have been waiting for this film to come out for years. It is a very relevant movie that is very much relatable to the modern world. The acting is superb and the story is absolutely awesome. I loved this movie!
I can't think of a better film than this. The performances are spot on, the cinematography and editing is flawless, and it's an utterly riveting film. However, the key to this film's greatness lies in the clever, yet subtle, way in which it uses the camera, the music, and the situation in which the characters find themselves. The camera never once takes itself too seriously. It does not linger on or lingers on the characters. The music and the scenes are all interwoven. They tell the story of the characters, but they never make us feel like we know them. It is simply a wonderful film that, while being a bit slow, still has a lot to say. An absolute must-see.
First of all, I don't have any English skills, so I can't comment about the movie's logic. But I know a lot of gay men. And, yes, I'm one. And we do eat and sleep together at the same time. The movie is a good example of the drama and the art of human interaction. The dialogue is an improvement over most movies, the plot moves from a funny scene to a funny scene, and the characters come to life and tell the same funny story. I believe this is what makes the movie end up being so good, although it is not original. The best part of the movie, though, is the end. While I understand that some people dislike the movie for it's ending, I have a lot of respect for it. It goes against what many gay men believe and takes a different way to it. And, unlike most gay movies, it doesn't use the gay men's antics for shock value, it is the more serious topic of the day. The movie is for you, because you just can't find anything else, and it gives you something you can relate to. The movie will definitely leave a mark on you. You will thank me, but, you will thank the movie.
I love this film. It is so refreshing to see a story that shows a young, uneducated African woman making a big contribution to her community and then her life is turned upside down when she comes into contact with an American mother. The story is told so well and even though some of the actors are not in their correct roles, it is still interesting to watch. My favorite character was Beatriz and I was so glad that they brought her back to her homeland. The rest of the cast also did a great job. I think this movie should be nominated for an Oscar. If I were to pick a favorite character, I would pick Nelly De Laurentiis because of her ability to express emotion and show so many different sides to a character. I also really enjoyed the fact that they showed a lot of different ethnic groups as we see in this movie and that the actors played these people perfectly. I really hope that this movie will be recognized by other film makers and that we will see more of this.
This movie was a real eye-opener for me. It's the story of a family that has an unusual food situation. It's the story of how each member of the family is going to find out what they're really meant to be doing with their lives. And the ending was a real surprise to me. It had me in tears! This is a must see for anyone who wants to see a funny, emotional and uplifting movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes romance, comedy and drama.
I was in France for the Cannes film festival, and I had the opportunity to see a sneak preview of "Two Sisters" before it opened in New York. I am not a big fan of Julia Roberts, but she was totally believable as the wacky, drunken wife. I am not familiar with Franco Zefferelli, but his performance was fine, and he was very memorable as the drunk, unstable brother of Ariane, who has both of her legs amputated. This movie is a feast for the eyes, but I would have liked it better if it had been a little longer, and more focused on the relationship between the siblings. I saw this movie during the festival, and I enjoyed it very much, but I think it could have been longer and better. It is not a movie I would want to see again, and it is a movie I would not recommend to anyone who is not really a big fan of Julia Roberts.
I had heard about this movie for a long time and had read the book by Graham Greene. So I really had to see for myself how the movie was made. And I was not disappointed! I was not prepared for the atmosphere of the movie. It was really dark and really cold, and the movie is not just about the personal life of the characters. You really see the real thing that is happening in the world. The film is very close to the book, and I'm not sure if the book is better than the movie. But the movie really is worth watching. It's like a different perspective of the book, and that is not a bad thing.
A movie that tells how a little boy is dealt with by people around him. The father wants to see the boy, but is denied by the government because of a "crime" he did. When he wants to get the boy, he does, and that is when things begin to turn for the worst. The man in charge of the case is underpaid, and what can he do? He can try to get rid of the boy, but will that make things better? This movie has something for everyone to think about. It is about what it means to be alive, and it deals with some very serious issues. This movie is full of meaning, and it will make you think about what it means to be a good person. I give this movie a 10/10. Well worth seeing.
This is a brilliant film. Without a doubt the best film I have seen. It is not in the same league as Citizen Kane, but still a top contender. No words can express my admiration for Sam Mendes. This is not a criticism on him. I saw this film at a festival and it was well worth it. Everyone should see it. Some of the language is not suitable for children. The film is very educational and this can be a problem in the young. It is a beautiful film and it is not for the faint of heart.
There's no need to spell out what the point of this film is - which is to remind us that, sometimes, love and the human spirit can transcend borders and geography and come together in amazing ways. That's the goal of this film, and I think it's a good one, even if the film doesn't quite hit its mark. I think the biggest criticism of this film is that it has a certain feel of a documentary and not a lot of real narrative. I think it's a good film for people who want to see some nice love stories - and a few thoughts on how we see the world - but I think the film should be judged on its own terms, and not be seen as a documentary in itself. I'd say the best way to judge it is to compare it to other films of its kind. Not just the recent ones, but the films of the '30s, the '50s, and the '60s. (For those who don't know, it's a term I like to use to describe the period from the late 19th century to the early 20th century when American society was in a period of social upheaval and upheaval - and people really were on the move, from the north to the south, east to west.) In that way, the films are very similar. This film is about a set of characters and their relationships. It's about life and love and the human spirit. And it's about the diversity of people in this country - whether they're black, white, or Latino. It's about the freedom of thought, the freedom of expression, and the freedom to love. I'm not sure that there's much more to say about this film. It's just a nice film - and a good way to spend an hour and a half.
While this movie isn't exactly for the family (what with the father in jail), it's about as close as it gets. Yay! A happy ending! We all know how hard life can be for a single mom. And yet we also know that there are people that live their whole lives like this. The women in this movie have their own problems, too. The mother has a baby and, instead of going to work, she spends her days watching television and going on trips. Her husband takes off for work and comes back to the house. And this husband does not get along with his family, and there are times where he will tell his wife that she is not what he expected her to be. The father, on the other hand, is, in fact, a great man. He is the kind of guy that you would love to be. He is the kind of man that women find attractive, and he knows that he has a daughter that is just like him. He knows that she has the same dad as he, and he also knows that the daughter wants to be like him. But he does not know this. But when the father realizes this, he helps the daughter to become her own person. This is one of the most moving movies I have ever seen. I just cannot get over it. There are scenes that you cannot get out of your mind, and it has a great message. Every time you watch it, you are reminded of what a good man is, and how this man who is in jail is a hero.
A really good movie that just gets better and better with time. I have seen it twice and it is still good. In fact, the best two performances by any actress. Sophia Loren and Cate Blanchett make a great team and really complement each other. I loved the dialogue. The ending was also very good and made you feel for the characters. In short, I highly recommend this movie. It is one of my favorites and I think everyone should see it at least once. 10/10
I've seen a lot of movies in my time, and this is by far the best of the lot. I have to admit that it is not a movie you can watch just once. It is a movie that you have to watch twice. I really feel sorry for the women who have to work in a job that is not fair and just. For me, a movie has to be good. I feel that the acting is top notch and the story is one that keeps you guessing until the very end. For me, that is a movie that can stand the test of time. I think that if you like films with a good story and characters, you should see this movie. I am giving this film a 9 out of 10.
I enjoyed this movie immensely. I thought it was very very well done. I don't usually comment on movies that are recommended to me, but I thought it was very well done. I really enjoyed the idea of watching two people talking about their lives, and not just the politics of the moment, but the realities of their past and their present. The writing, the acting, the directing, and the pacing, everything was spot on. I especially enjoyed how it moved at a pace that made you feel like you were in the theater. The cinematography, music, and lighting were absolutely beautiful. I really thought this was a very well done movie. One of the things that is absolutely amazing is the depth that the director has shown. I like movies that have a depth to them that is not seen in many films. There are some movies that don't really show the depth of the characters, or they are shallow at all. There are some movies that are like "a man" or "a woman" and one of the things that I really liked about this movie was that the movie didn't show that, it showed the main characters, the relationships between the people that worked in the movie. I also really like the fact that this movie shows that it's a very difficult thing to tell your mother you love her, and there are always those times where that isn't the way to be. I loved this movie, and I really recommend it to anybody who likes a good story and a lot of depth. It's well worth the money.
The story of a woman's relationships with her two daughters. The film is very well shot, it's the kind of movie where you feel like you're there with them, but don't want to be there. Although it's about mother-daughter relationships, it's a movie that will appeal to anyone with a good sense of humor. This is a rare film that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, although the movie is very tender and personal.
A genuine film with excellent acting, characters and a nice story.I saw it at the Toronto International Film Festival and I was totally enthralled. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice story with real characters. The story is very good and well written. You really feel like you are there in the bar with these characters. The acting is also great. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes a good movie with real people and good acting. Highly recommend!
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this film is my favorite "dinner" movie of all time. It has a great cast, it's got a great story, and it's got an amazing soundtrack. The first time I saw it, I laughed out loud. And then, every time I saw it, I had to laugh some more. It's not an easy film to get through, and you have to be a very active person. But, it's so funny. I think that most people who like this movie will love it. I also think that it's not a very common thing to see a film like this in theaters. I don't know why that is. People go to see movies for the acting and the special effects, and I think that this is a much better movie than those. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to see a great movie and just laughs. And, if you want to see a film that you won't want to stop, you should see this one.
The movie "The Habit of the 'Habits' is a movie about the lives of a man and his wife. His wife is a lesbian. The movie is very funny. There is also a lot of social comment. The main character is not one of the characters from the books. The actor who played the part of "the Habits" is a really good actor. He is very good. He is a big fan of German films and of movies like Schindler's List and 'The Night Watchman.' I think this is a really good movie, very funny, and it has a good message about human relationships. The music is also very good. It is really good.
It's a treat to see a movie with the same heart-warming humour as the original. This movie is more enjoyable if you remember the original, and you've seen the original movies before, so you can guess which joke you'll be missing, if you've seen them before. But I also recommend this movie to people who haven't seen the original, because it has a very "less is more" philosophy to it. If you like the original, or even if you haven't seen the original, this movie is a must.
I've just been watching this movie again, I was totally hooked by the beginning, but still I don't understand all the crazy stuff about the movie, I have just seen it a few times, this is the first time I've watched it a second time. This is one of those movies that you can just sit down and watch without any expectation, the story itself is about a rich, blond girl, and her life, where she meets a slum, where she falls in love, and then have to change her identity. The rest of the movie is just so cute and unique, some movies you just can't stop watching. I really recommend this movie, its really cool and fun, the performances are very real, I think Im just quoting something, this movie is a real life classic.
I'm sure that a lot of people don't want to believe that a woman could be as smart as men. But the reason why these women are able to act and write as well as men is because they have the intelligence of women. At least this movie tried to make us see a better side of the women that we all knew, and it didn't show us the whole truth about the women that we have been led to believe. The irony is that those women are showing us their true self, and it's truly beautiful and sad. This movie really made me feel really, really good. I was crying and laughing and laughing and crying. I'm actually seeing things that I've always wanted to see and having them now. I am sure that you're going to really feel the same way after watching this movie, because it's so real. But, what makes it even better is that, despite all the bad things that have been said about it, it still managed to make me cry a little, and it made me laugh. I am so proud to be a woman who is smart, strong, and strong-willed. There are a lot of different kinds of women, but I think that this movie has been the only one that has the ability to make me feel like that. If you don't believe that women can be that smart, then you are either going to have to be a really terrible person or a really good person to have something to feel proud about.
Nancy Meyers' documentary about the 1980's family-oriented musical about a group of gay men who move to San Francisco, has become the musical equivalent of Out of Africa (1964) or Brother Theodore (1938). Yet it is much more than just the musical. It also probes the whole family drama of these men, from the family business to their relationships with each other, and the common father-son relationship. An excellent portrait of this odd group, showing the insecurities and prejudices of the time, and the friendship of the boys' father and brother, the film manages to be both entertaining and relevant, while never falling into the "gay boy band" trap.
