Portrait photographer Elsa Dorfman found her medium in 1980: the larger-than-life Polaroid Land 20x24 camera. For the next thirty-five years she captured the "surfaces" of those who visited her Cambridge, Massachusetts studio: families, Beat poets, rock stars, and Harvard notables. As pictures begin to fade and her retirement looms, Dorfman gives Errol Morris an inside tour of her backyard archive.

I first saw Elsa in the mid-80s. I was a teenager, I had a camera, and I liked the work she did. She was an excellent artist, and I have always admired her work. This film is a good representation of her work. It's been years since I saw it, but I remember it well. It's a good documentary film about her work. It's a little more visual than most people would like, but it is worth watching.
This is a must see documentary on how photography can be a powerful medium to convey a message and how powerful and powerful it can be. The viewer is captivated by the beauty and perfection of the images. It is a mesmerizing experience that is worth seeing for the incredible images. The documentary is filled with a wonderful cast of talent that includes Robert Altman, Bruce Surtees, Jay Adams, Mike Nichols, and many more. They all share their experience with the medium of photography. The subject matter is very serious, but the movie is not to be taken seriously. It is a simple story about a beautiful medium that is a powerful medium to convey a message and I truly recommend this film to everyone.
I was excited to find out that this documentary was going to be shown at my local film festival, and I was looking forward to watching it. What I didn't know, however, was that I would be totally overwhelmed by the incredible amount of information that the film contained. I am a professional photographer, and this documentary was extremely informative and filled with amazing information. The film was a little slow at times, but that was because I was just trying to absorb the information. The amount of information was so much that I couldn't take it all in. It was really amazing, and it's definitely one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. I recommend this film to anyone who wants to know about the subject of photography.
I saw this documentary last week at a film festival in Los Angeles and it is truly a "must see". I first saw this documentary in early 1999 on cable television. At the time, I was a film student at USC, but I never really had a great interest in film and art. The film is a must-see for all art students, but it's also a must-see for film lovers. It's beautifully shot and very informative. The film covers everything from the history of photography to the present day. It covers the amazing advancements in digital photography, the new digital photography that is taking place and the history of the way that photography is used. The film also gives us a look at the history of the film industry in general. It talks about the old school and the new school of film. I'm not going to give away the story of the film or the story of photography, but I will say that this documentary is one of the most well-done documentaries I've ever seen. If you're interested in film, photography, art, or history, I highly recommend this documentary. It's a must-see.
I've always been interested in photography, I always liked the way this style of photography was portrayed in the films of the early 70's. I had never heard of Elsa Dorfman until I read about her in a book and she was an amazing woman. I became a huge fan of her work and soon discovered she was also an amazing artist. After having seen her work in a few films I became a huge fan of hers. I loved her style of photography, the way she captured the beauty of nature and the human body. She was a very talented woman and I am extremely proud of her. She was a very unique woman and I feel that her work will continue to grow and expand. I hope to see more of her work in the future. I highly recommend this film to everyone. I think this film is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen. It's very inspiring and very informative. I think everyone should see this film.
When I heard about this documentary I immediately thought it would be about the photographer Elsa Dorfman, but it wasn't. Instead, it was about the subjects of the documentary. I watched it because I was interested in photography, and I was surprised to see the subjects' lives unfold. I thought the documentary was very interesting, and the subjects' stories were very interesting. I thought the documentary was very important because it showed how photographers can create wonderful images, and the people who are photographed. The subjects were very interesting and the stories of their lives were interesting. I think the subjects' lives are interesting because they are such different people. They are all from different backgrounds, and yet, they all have the same love for photography. It's a beautiful documentary and I would recommend it to anyone.
I found this movie on the radio and when I saw the title, I was intrigued. I immediately watched the movie and I must say, it was excellent. I am in awe of the talent that this woman has, and I am so glad that she has the opportunity to share her talent with others. I truly believe that there is no one else like her in the world. I hope that this movie reaches as many people as possible, and that they watch it. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this movie. I also believe that the story of Elsa Dorfman is a great lesson for young girls, and for young men to learn about the importance of love, commitment, and being true to yourself. I hope that more people will watch this movie and learn that true beauty is found in all of us.
This is one of the most important documentaries I've ever seen. It takes a step in the right direction and shows the true face of a lot of people who have a problem with the way they look. It is a shame that this film didn't receive the recognition it deserves. The film is really about the work of a famous photographer who has gone down a dark path of self-destruction and alcoholism. It is a shame that the film has been so poorly received by the critics and so little has been said about this great documentary. It is a shame because it shows the hidden sides of the people who we look at as celebrities and even the ones who we know. It shows the truth of what the world is really like. If you are a celebrity or a student of a celebrity, you should see this film because it will change the way you look at your celebrity and your self. You will see that you have many flaws and that the people around you can be even more flawed than you are. The film is a must-see for anyone who wants to know what is really going on with the world and what is going on with the people around you.
I found this documentary to be a very interesting look at the medium of Portrait Photography and how it can change the lives of those involved. Although I was not a professional photographer I have photographed many a beautiful woman. I can honestly say that the women in this film are all beautiful in their own way. The film was well-done and the women were well-spoken. The subjects were very honest and I found it very interesting that many of the subjects were very young and had only just started to take photos. The subjects' stories were touching and I felt a connection to them. I was surprised to see that the subjects were all so young and the youngest was just 16 years old. I think this is a great film that I would recommend to anyone who loves women and photography. It is well-done and I would highly recommend this film to anyone who has been a professional photographer or has had a relationship with one.
I have seen the documentary, The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman's Portrait Photography, several times and still find it very insightful and very inspiring. It is a true work of art that brings out the beauty in all of us. Dorfman's photography captures the beauty of the human soul and the beauty of nature. Dorfman's photos are more than just beautiful images. They are also poetic. The photos are not only beautiful, they are beautiful portraits of human beings. The B-Side is a must see for anyone interested in photography or art.
As a Canadian, I'm quite familiar with the cultural heritage of my country and I was surprised that I hadn't heard of this film until now. The idea that an artist can be her own best friend is a great idea, and I hope that the next filmmaker who follows in this vein will be a great deal more interesting and well-rounded. I hope that other artists who have created this type of work will continue to be able to see their work and learn from it.
This documentary is a great source of information on the subjects of film-making and photography. This documentary also serves as a very informative resource for people who are interested in photography. There are many interviews with people who are involved in photography and film making, as well as some who are not. For those who want to know more about the subject, this documentary is a great place to start. I highly recommend it.
I've always been fascinated by the relationship between art and photography. This film is truly an eye-opener, for art lovers and photographers alike. It shows how photography can actually help us better understand and express our own personal feelings. The director and editor make this film feel like a documentary, with only the barest hint of a narrator. I found myself thinking about the film for hours afterwards, and the sense of wonder and hope I felt throughout was unmatched. I am very interested in photography and am very interested in this director and his project. If you have a love for photography, I strongly recommend this film. It is one of the best I have ever seen, and I can't wait to see more of his work. You should definitely watch this film.
It's a very interesting look at the life of a single mother and her career, and her photography, both of which are very important to her and her family. She was very active in her early years, and her photography is a great resource for her family and friends. The documentary does a great job of showing the life of her husband and her son, but also shows how important her photography was to her, and how important her husband was to her. She also talks about the importance of photography for her family, and how important it was to her to see her family in the photographs she made. She talks about how her husband left her, and how he wanted to move on, and how he was not happy about this. He tried to force her to be the mother she wanted to be, and was not happy about it. She talks about how her son was very proud of her, and how he saw her as his mother, and was very proud of her. She also talks about how her husband and his son, and how she was the one who was always looking out for them. The documentary was very moving, and I highly recommend it.
As a child, I saw this documentary at a local art fair. It was a visual feast for me. It was a compelling, honest story. It is amazing to see how far the world has come in the last 50 years. I wish more people had been exposed to this story. I know that when I read about the horrible conditions in the mines in China, I was stunned. I wish more people could see this documentary. The kids in the film are incredible. Their stories are heartbreaking. I have never been to China, but I'm sure I would feel the same way if I had. I have to say, though, the most moving part of the film was the last part. The director does a fantastic job at keeping the audience engaged, but then he goes on to tell us how his family and friends survived. They had a very hard time to get to the hospital. They had to do a lot of digging, but they were lucky to be alive. There is a powerful scene where he talks to a fellow survivor and tells her that she's lucky to be alive. It's amazing to see a film about survival that doesn't preach to the audience. The film is not about finding a way out, but about how the human spirit can overcome all the odds. I hope you enjoy this film as much as I did.
As I've mentioned in my other reviews, this movie is simply fantastic. I thought that I'd never like a movie that focuses on the process of portraiture, and this movie is not only about portraiture, but about how you can be a professional, and even a successful professional at the same time. If you're like me, and you like art, this is the movie for you! I highly recommend this movie to everyone, and I hope that this review helps someone else. My rating is 10/10.
A must see for all music lovers, if only for the amazing work of the director and of the stars. If you have never heard of this film, it is absolutely worth a watch. The visuals are amazing. The images are so natural and such a joy to watch. This is a very important film to have in your collection. I'm sure it will be one of the most viewed movies of the year. The performances are great, and the actors do a great job of making us feel the intensity of the performances. The director did a fantastic job, too. He captured the magic of the moment and made it beautiful. A must see for all.
I had a chance to see Elsa's Portrait Photography at the Hollywood and Highland Film Festival. It was amazing. It is an excellent documentary about her work. It is a journey into her mind, her art and her life. It is fascinating and very inspiring. This documentary is about a woman who is so creative, so well educated and so well connected. I love her work, and I love her soul. I hope you will see it. It is a must-see.
I found this documentary very informative. This documentary gives you a look at a world of photographers who spend their lives working with art and the artists who help to make their work come to life. This documentary was very well done and the director did an excellent job of keeping the documentary moving at a steady pace. This documentary will be a valuable addition to any photographer's collection.
It was a pleasure to see this movie. It was a great way to spend a day. I enjoyed the art and the photographer's style. The movie is very informative. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the photographers. It is a great way to learn more about the work of David Lidegaard and his work. He is an artist and his work is very interesting. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys art and photography. I think this movie is a great way to spend an hour and a half.
